Thank you to everyone on my page for their continued support. It is with regret that I will have to close my rescue. They will think they have won. They haven’t, they are bullies and harassers - they have been reported to the police.

Unfortunately they have now denied any future rescues of their forever homes. I have taken animals in when everywhere else was full and there were no other options. It’s a shame that this gang of childish people have decided to pick on someone who is giving animals a second chance whilst they waste their time bullying people instead of focusing on helping animals themselves.

If anyone is genuinely interested in rehoming any animals please contact me. But for now, goodbye from us at Remy’s ❤️

Unfortunately there have been numerous false accusations posted all over Facebook about myself and my rescue today including statements such as the "welfare and lives of animals are at risk" in my care. The animals in my care have been taken in, given warmth, food and water, trips to the vets, and treatment when required before being rehomed. These lies have been invented from snippets of information from my page when only a fraction of the real story is known from the posts they’ve seen on Facebook.

Comments calling me scum along with a hunt to find out my address is harassment and bullying. Numerous people have conveniently messaged me today pretending to be interested in the animals, straight after a post is made asking where I am based. This is obviously a clear attempt to find out where I am.

In terms of me ‘ignoring’ the constant messages about animals being neutered and vaccinated, it has also been clear these messages are just from a clique of certain people who want to harass me under the impression that I’m not helping these animals. Hence the lack of reply. Anyone with genuine interest has messaged, had a phone call with me and home visits. None of which has been mentioned in these posts, only false negatives about me.

So when asked if my animals are vaccinated and neutered? Unlike most other pets, there are no standard vaccinations for guinea pigs to protect them against transmissible illnesses and health conditions. Guinea pigs also don't have to be neutered unless there is a good reason to do so. Surgery of any kind can be dangerous as they do not respond well to anaesthesia. Generally, keeping piggies in same-sex groups negates the need for neutering.

In terms of rabbits, I never had plans to take any in. I know these do need to be neutered and vaccinated. The rabbits I have had were emergency cases only - one was being being threatened to be thrown out onto the streets that evening if he wasn't collected, another one was literally handed to me in the streets. No one else would have these rabbits, so if I had not taken them on who knows where they would be. I have declined numerous rabbits coming into my rescue knowing I am unable to neuter and vaccinate them currently.

As stated in posts on my page, my Amazon wish list and GoFundMe page directly goes towards vet bills and to the animals. I do not ‘profit’ from this, in fact this costs me money. It is literally me putting my all into ensuring these animals go to good homes that they deserve.

Concerning one of the attacks stating I had bonded and separated two guinea pigs. These animals had already been separated prior to coming to me. I cannot control the past of these animals, I am here to help them and ensure they have a good forever home.

I'm not sure why this time and energy cannot be spent helping animals that are being abused rather than falsely attacking someone doing their best to help?
