Great start to Monday morning a visit to Margate Police Station with James from HeartHero to review the 6 x Elliot HeartHero Defibrillators loaned to Margate response vehicles by us at Community Lifesavers. They have been deployed and given an extra chance to help save a life, we are grateful for the support from Kent Police in particular the team at Margate. We are continuing to be guardians for the Defibrillators as together with care, compassion and bystanders intervention as well as first on scene police officers we can all save lives in the community.

Saturday morning fun at Waterloo Centre Whitstable today, 15 people lots of interest and an on site Defibrillator check all done before lunch and a gratefully received £70 total in donations ❤️❤️Waterloo Centre #

Applications are now open for community groups to apply for a free defibrillator funded by the British Heart Foundation.

Applications must come from a non-profit, community focused group and there are a number of other conditions, including making the defibrillator available 24/7/365 in a non-lockable and uncoded cabinet (like the one pictured below).

Great lifesaving skills session this evening in Whitstable with members of St. Vincent de PaulSociety- everyone fully engaged in the session and some were surprised at how well they performed chest compressions on our Brayden manikins

Community Lifesavers marks Volunteers’ Week 2026.

Volunteers’ Week returns this year for the 42nd year.

From Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June 2026, Community Lifesavers will join thousands of charities and voluntary organisations recognising the contribution volunteers make across the UK.

Volunteer Coordinator, Steve Turner said: "Community Lifesavers is delighted to celebrate and highlight the work of our brilliant team of volunteers. During 2025 they helped to deliver free hands only CPR training and how to use a defibrillator to 2,192 people in community groups and schools in Thanet and beyond.

We thank each of them for their ongoing support, commitment and passion that contributes to our continued success. We could not do what we do without them."
