🏠 WHAT’S IN YOUR LOFT?

We’re starting to build Ramsgate’s new local history exhibition, and now we need your help to find the objects, photographs and memories that could help tell the town’s story.

Do you have something tucked away in a loft, cupboard, drawer, garage or old photo album that has a connection to Ramsgate?

We’d love to hear about things such as:

• Old photographs and postcards
• School items, uniforms, badges or photographs
• Shop and business memorabilia
• Tickets, programmes, posters and leaflets
• Maps and guidebooks
• Letters, diaries and personal papers
• Items connected with local workplaces or industries
• Club, society or sports memorabilia
• Holiday and seafront souvenirs
• Old advertising, packaging or branded items
• Everyday objects that help tell the story of life in Ramsgate

At this stage, we’re interested in anything from Ramsgate’s past. We’re also happy to hear about items from the wider Thanet area.

You do not have to give your item away.

We can consider:

📦 Permanent donations
🤝 Temporary loans for the exhibition
📸 Photographing or scanning items so you can keep the originals

If you think you may have something of interest, please contact us before bringing it in, especially if the item is large.

📣 Coming this November: Ramsgate’s New History Exhibition

Thanet Trust is excited to announce that we’re developing a brand-new local history exhibition celebrating the people, places, stories and memories that make Ramsgate what it is.

And we want the community to help us build it.

Over the coming months, we’ll be inviting local people to get involved in all sorts of ways:

· historical research,
· oral histories,
· identifying old photographs,
· model making,
· exhibition design,
· photography,
· filmmaking, and more.

We’ll also be asking Ramsgate residents to help shape the exhibition's focus and to share or loan photographs, objects, documents and memories that could become part of the final displays.

The exhibition will take place in November 2026, with full dates and further details to be announced soon.
