From seeds to surplus harvests, our goal is simple: make gardening more accessible, sustainable, and community-led.

Harvest – Gardening Workshop | 5 September 🌾

Is your garden full of produce and you're not quite sure when or how to harvest it? 🌱

Join us for our Harvest Gardening Workshop and learn how to make the most of the food you've grown. We'll explore when different crops are ready to pick, how to harvest them correctly, and how to get the best from your garden's produce.

What skills do you actually gain from gardening?

It’s easy to think of gardening as just planting and growing, but for many volunteers at Let’s Grow Preston, it becomes much more than that.

Over time, people naturally develop: confidence, patience and routine, problem-solving skills, teamwork and communication, responsibility and focus, etc., and often, these skills transfer far beyond the garden, into everyday life, education, and work.

The most powerful part? It doesn’t feel like learning. It feels like doing something meaningful.

That’s the value of community gardening, skills and resilience grown quietly, alongside plants and food that feed our community.
