Can I adopt if I have experienced mental health problems in the past?
The simple answer is yes. Having experienced mental health difficulties in the past does not automatically prevent you from adopting.
As part of the adoption process, every prospective adopter completes a full medical assessment, regardless of their health history. The focus is on understanding your current health, wellbeing, and ability to provide a stable, loving home for a child
Everyone's circumstances are different, and we consider each application individually. If you have questions about your situation, we're always happy to have an informal chat.

A great night was had by all at our second Games Night at the FX!

There was plenty of fun, lots of laughter, and some fantastic prizes up for grabs. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying themselves and making it another successful evening.

This Pride Month, Caritas Care is proud to celebrate and support the LGBTQIA+ community.

We believe that every child deserves a loving, supportive family, and we have always welcomed applications from LGBTQIA+ people interested in fostering or adopting. What matters most is the ability to provide a safe, stable and nurturing home where children can thrive.

We are also proud to partner with New Family Social, the UK's peer support charity for LGBTQIA+ adopters, foster carers and special guardians. Together, we are helping to ensure that more children can find the families they need.

This Pride Month, we celebrate diversity, inclusion and the many different ways families are made. 🌈
