Following feedback from tenants, we recently installed a new dog waste bin and post in the Grange area to help tackle dog fouling and keep the neighbourhood clean.

Unfortunately, the dog waste bin and post were ripped out. We replaced them so the community could continue to benefit, but sadly they have now been ripped out for a second time.

We invested over £500 to install and replace the dog waste bin and post and when things like this happen, it doesn’t just undo the work, it discourages those who are trying to make a difference in your community.

Last week, our teams were out around Barry Avenue in Ingol, carrying out the latest community project as part of our 20th birthday celebrations.

After tenants raised concerns about litter, fly-tipping and dog fouling, colleagues from across Community Gateway rolled up their sleeves and got to work.

Despite the rain, we collected six bags of litter and spoke to tenants about their neighbourhood, listening to their feedback and ideas for future improvements.

We also spoke with local dog owners about the impact of dog fouling and handed out goody bags to help promote responsible pet ownership.

It was great to engage with tenants whilst working together to make our communities cleaner, greener and safer.

Making your community a better place to live 💜

We have been out in our communities through our Shape Your Space events, speaking with you about what you love about your area and what could be improved.

From your feedback, we have created Community Plans for each area. These set out what we will be doing to help make your neighbourhood cleaner, greener and safer.

Each plan reflects what you have told us and focuses on local priorities like anti-social behaviour, fly-tipping and improving shared green spaces.

A fresh new look for Almelo House!

Over the past few months, our teams have been working hard to deliver a major refurbishment programme at our Independent Living Scheme, Almelo House.

This investment has transformed communal areas throughout the scheme, creating brighter and more welcoming spaces.

Tenant involvement was at the heart of the project, with tenants helping to choose colours, wallpaper designs and flooring to create a space they can enjoy.
