We are delighted to be running another coach trip to RSPB Bempton Cliffs on Sunday 7th June 2026!

The cost is £28 for Preston Society members and £31 for non-members.

Hi everyone,

A reminder that our final talk of the season will be tomorrow evening on Monday 2nd March 2026.

"The Kingfisher- A Flash of Blue" by Ron Blackburn.

The talk focuses on this beautiful bird, rarely seen other than the flash of electric blue. From April 2025, Ron followed a Kingfisher family, studying it and making his own findings to support this talk.
With stunning images and amazing videos this is a must to hear and see this bird in its natural habitat.

Just £3 for non-members!

Hi everyone,

Our final talk of the season will be on Monday 2nd March 2026.

"The Kingfisher- A Flash of Blue" by Ron Blackburn.

Hi everyone,

A reminder that our next talk will be on Monday 23rd February 2026.

"The Hornbeam and the Handkerchief Tree" by Steve Halliwell.

Our speaker this week, Steve Halliwell, is a public speaker, author and biographer, who has an in-depth knowledge about local public gardens.

His talk will be a celebration of trees, both native and ornamental, from around the world. We will see woodlands through the seasons and the changing scenery and landscapes that they offer.

Steve will look more closely at our native species and the uses to which man has put them. He will also introduce a large number of flowering ornamental species, pointing out their identifying features.
