ONE LAST TIME, LET’S LIGHT UP STAMSHAW! 💜

Well, here we are! After months of planning, preparing, organising, worrying about the weather (and approximately 427 days of non-stop rain! 🌧️😂), the day has finally arrived!

And would you believe it… the weather forecast is actually looking DRY for this evening!! 🙌🎉

So if you’ve been holding off getting your tickets because of the weather, now’s the time!

We’ve got a fantastic evening planned, and we’d absolutely LOVE to see you there! 🥰

🌟 WHAT’S HAPPENING?

🌈 Our spectacular LASER LIGHT SHOW lighting up the Stamshaw sky!

🎠 Carousel Amusements bringing the rides and fun!

🍔 A delicious BBQ run by our wonderful 23rd Portsmouth Scouts!

🍬 Tuck shop packed with sweet treats!

✨ Light-up toys to add a little extra sparkle!

💜 And hopefully a school playground full of happy families, laughter and memories being made!

As always, we’ve tried to make this event as accessible as possible, and tickets are pay what you can with a recommended donation of just £6 per family. Whatever you can give really helps towards the cost of running the event.
*You can book tickets for free if a donation is not manageable for you, no questions asked. We don’t want any family to miss ou.

🚗 PARKING: Limited parking is available within the school grounds on a first-come, first-served basis, until all spaces are filled. A £2 donation towards event costs is suggested for parking.

Four years ago, PATCH started with a simple idea. To bring people together, make things better for our children and create memories that would last long after they’d left Stamshaw.

I don’t think any of us could have imagined quite what those four years would bring.

The events, the laughter, the friendships, the challenges, the ridiculous amount of hard work, and all those little moments that made it worthwhile.

And tonight, we get to do it one last time.

There’s something quite emotional about that. Knowing this is the last time we’ll be setting everything up, welcoming families through the gates and watching the school come alive with colour and excitement.

But more than anything, we want tonight to be a celebration.

A celebration of everything we’ve achieved together, of the wonderful community we’ve been lucky enough to be part of, and of the children who have always been at the heart of everything we’ve done.

We’ve worked so hard to make this final event something special, and the one thing that would make it truly magical is YOU! 💜

So please, come and join us. Bring your family, tell your friends, wrap up warm and come and make one last set of memories with us.

Because when the lasers light up the sky tonight, I hope we’ll be looking out at a playground full of smiling faces, knowing that all those years of hard work were worth every single minute.

💜✨ One last little plea from us…✨💜

Tomorrow is our final Light Up Stamshaw, and after four incredible years of PATCH, we really want to make this one special.

We've spent the last few weeks working incredibly hard behind the scenes to bring everything together, and we're so close now!

But there's one thing we're still missing… a few more pairs of helping hands! 🥹

We've managed to pull together just enough volunteers to make the event happen, but we're still stretched very thin, and a few more people would make such a difference.

We're not asking anyone to do anything complicated! We just need some lovely people willing to give up a few hours to help with marshalling, keeping everyone safe, helping at entrances and exits, or holding donation buckets.

For four years, PATCH has been about bringing people together, creating opportunities and making memories for our children. We've achieved things I don't think any of us could have imagined when we first started.

And tomorrow, we get to do it one last time. 💜

I'd love for our little team to be able to enjoy a moment of that magic too, knowing we've got enough people around us to make everything run smoothly.

If you've ever thought about volunteering but never quite got around to it, perhaps tomorrow could be your moment. 🥰

You don't need any experience, just a willingness to help and a few hours to spare.

It's nearly time to light up the sky over Stamshaw one last time! 💜

Join us for a fantastic evening of family fun, entertainment and, of course, our spectacular LASER LIGHT SHOW! 🎆

🎠 Carousel Amusements will be joining us with their rides!

🍔 BBQ serving up some tasty food with thanks to 23rd Portsmouth Scouts!

On-street parking is limited, with a maximum stay of 2 hours for non permit holders.

Additional parking is available on in the cages — turn right out of Walker Road.

💜 This is PATCH's final big event, and we'd love to make it an evening to remember!

We’re looking for volunteers to help marshal at the event and keep everything running safely and smoothly.

🙏 Even if you’re coming along to enjoy the show with your family, could you spare a little time to help us out? Every extra pair of hands makes a huge difference, and we’d be so grateful for any support.

❤️✨ ONE LAST FAVOUR, STAMSHAW… WE NEED YOU! ✨❤️

We’re not quite sure how to write this one, so we’re just going to speak from the heart.

In just one week, we’ll be welcoming you to Light Up Stamshaw, our final big PATCH community event.

It’s a bittersweet moment for our little team. Over the last four years, we’ve poured our hearts into PATCH. We’ve given up evenings, weekends, family time and more hours than we could ever count, all because we wanted to create something special for the children, families and community of Stamshaw.

And what an incredible four years it’s been. ❤️

We’ve made memories we’ll treasure forever, and we hope we’ve helped create a few for your families too.

But behind every event, every smiling face and every magical moment, there’s always been a very small group of people working incredibly hard to make it all happen.

And right now, that little team could really do with some help.

For Light Up Stamshaw, we currently have around 15 volunteers, including some of our older children who’ve kindly stepped forward.

We need at least 23 people to cover our essential roles, although around 35 would allow us to share the workload and make sure everyone is properly supported.

We’re looking for people to help with:

⭐ Marshalling and helping keep everyone safe

⭐ Monitoring entrances and exits

⭐ Holding donation buckets

⭐ Being an extra pair of hands wherever needed

Nothing complicated, no special skills required. Just a few hours of your time and a willingness to help.

We won’t pretend it’s not a little emotional to find ourselves making another volunteer appeal as we approach the end of our PATCH journey.

We’ve always been so proud of what our small team has managed to achieve, but the truth is, it’s taken an enormous amount of time, energy and dedication behind the scenes.

For our final event, it would mean the world to have a few more people alongside us. Not just to help with the practical jobs, but to share in making this last celebration something really special.

We know everyone has busy lives, commitments and families of their own. We completely understand that not everyone can volunteer, and we’re so grateful for all the different ways our community has supported us over the years.

But if you’ve ever thought about getting involved, even just once, this would be a wonderful time to do it. ❤️

Our laser light show brings all the wonder and excitement of a spectacular sky show, without the explosions or sudden loud bangs. It’s a more inclusive way for our community to come together, helping more families enjoy the magic, including those with SEND, anyone who finds traditional fireworks overwhelming, and veterans who may struggle with unexpected bangs. It’s also a kinder alternative for pets who find fireworks frightening. 🐾💖

🎡 And there’s so much more to enjoy! We’ll have fairground rides, a sizzling BBQ and plenty of family fun before we come together for the main event — the moment we LIGHT UP STAMSHAW! ✨

❤️ **FOUR INCREDIBLE YEARS. OVER £100,000 RAISED. COUNTLESS MEMORIES. ONE FINAL GOODBYE.** ❤️

This is a post we never imagined we'd have to write. 💔

After four unforgettable years, it is with incredibly heavy hearts that we announce **Stamshaw Schools PATCH will be closing following our final event, Light Up Stamshaw, on Wednesday 28th October.**

When a small group of parents came together in 2022 to create PATCH, we had one simple dream: to make our children's school experience that little bit more special.

What followed was beyond anything we could ever have imagined. ❤️

✨ Over £100,000 raised for our schools.
🎪 Incredible events, from StamFest and Haunted School to Christmas Fayres, discos and Light Up Stamshaw.
🎅 Magical moments at Santa's Grotto and Elfridges.
🥰 Hundreds of happy children, smiling faces and memories that we hope will last a lifetime.

And behind every single one of those moments was a very small group of dedicated parent volunteers, giving up evenings, weekends and precious family time to make it all happen.

We have laughed, cried, worked ridiculous hours, overcome challenges and poured our hearts into creating something truly special for our school community.

And we couldn't be prouder of what we've achieved. ❤️

As some of our founding members' children have now moved on from Stamshaw, the time has come to pass the baton. Sadly, despite spending much of the past year trying to encourage new volunteers to come forward, we haven't been able to secure the support needed to continue PATCH on the scale we've become known for.

This hasn't been an easy decision. PATCH has been so much more than a PTA to those of us involved. It's been a huge part of our lives, and saying goodbye is incredibly difficult.

❤️ **But this isn't the end of everything!**

A smaller PTA will remain, initially focusing on continuing our much-loved school gift shops, so that the children of Stamshaw can still enjoy those special little traditions.

And before we close this chapter, we have one final wish...

Tomorrow is the day! The juniors summer party.
Ticket sales close in just a couple of hours so make sure you book yours before it’s too late.

It’s going to be hot, so please make sure children have suncream applied, a hat and a water bottle. We will have unlimited water or squash available for free.
There will also be cans and cup drinks available to buy from the tuck shop.

If you would like to volunteer to help at the event, we would love to welcome you along. Volunteers will be chaperoning (keeping an eye on the children) and we will need a couple of people to help on the tuck shop.
Volunteers should arrive around 3:30-40 and finishing time will be around 6.15 once the children have gone home. It’s great fun and you can even lead a dance or two if you would like to 😉 get in touch if you are available and would like to lend a hand, it would be very much appreciated.

Don’t forget our big summer party is happening on Wednesday!
