📢 A message for all private renters in Plymouth and the South West

You might recently have been sent a document called the "Renters’ Rights Act Information Sheet 2026." We know that getting official legal papers from a landlord can feel scary, but we want to reassure you:
There is no need to panic!
✅ It is NOT a notice to leave.
Receiving this does not mean you are being evicted.

✅ It is FOR YOUR INFORMATION.
The law has changed to give tenants more security, and your landlord is simply following the new rules by letting you know.

✅ You may need to sign it. If your agent or landlord asks for a signature, they usually just need it for their records to show they’ve given you the information.

The Renters’ Rights Act is actually there to help you, including ending "no-fault" evictions and making tenancies more secure.

If you have questions or are struggling with housing costs, please get in touch with us at Money Advice Plymouth. We’re here to support you!

One in five councils in England and Wales display incorrect Carers' Council Tax Discount information, our investigation reveals.

Martin Lewis warns not to trust councils' online info, and recommends that unpaid carers who thought they weren't eligible should check again. ⬇️

This is likely to be putting off some of the millions of unpaid Carers from claiming what they're legally entitled to. ❤️‍🩹

If you provide at least 35 hours of free care a week to somebody in your household who isn’t a spouse, partner or child under 18 – AND the person you care for claims certain benefits – check you're not missing out on a 25% to 50% discount on your Council Tax bill. ⬇️
