Our friends at Plymouth Cancer Champions Project have asked if we would like to join them. Please see the info below and sign up.

Join us at the Plymouth Relay for Life community festival 💜
This is a brilliant community festival and 24-hour relay organised by Cancer Research UK, bringing people together to celebrate, remember and support those affected by cancer.

A family-friendly day where you can enjoy the festival, remember loved ones, take part in the Survivors’ Lunch if you are living with or beyond cancer, and anyone can walk some laps of the track as part of the relay. We would love as many people as possible to join us for a lap or two, or as many as you like, to help keep the relay going.

We’re forming a shared team called Cancer Connections, bringing together Cancer Champions, 5K Your Way, and other cancer support organisations and communities affected by cancer. Our team will be taking part in the relay and will be there to connect with the community and share information about support available to people affected by cancer. There are opportunities to donate to Cancer Research UK during the event, but no fundraising is required from Cancer Connections team members.

Step 2:

Choose the walking times that suit you best. Multiple people can walk at the same time, so feel free to sign up even if someone is already on your preferred slot. Each slot is one hour, but you can do as little as one lap or stay for the full hour — casual or full hour walkers welcome. 💜

We're incredibly sad to hear of the passing of Sue. Many of us enjoyed walking with Sue right from the start of 5K Your Way, and we know some members also joined her at the gym and the Into the Blue groups. You could always spot her with her bright pink hair. 🩷

What a busy and inspiring weekend! 💙

Yesterday was our official 5k Your Way meet-up, and today several of the group took on the Race for Life 5k and 10k.

It was lovely to join forces with the amazing Devon Mind ladies, many of whom have also been affected by cancer. Together, we shared a fantastic morning full of encouragement, determination, and plenty of smiles.

A special mention goes to Naomi, who completed her very first 10k in an incredible 1 hour 13 minutes – a fantastic achievement! 🎉

And a massive thank you to our wonderful support crew who came along to cheer us on. Your encouragement really does make all the difference, especially when tackling those hills! 👏

We're so proud of everyone who took part and represented our community so brilliantly. 💙🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Brilliant morning for our 5K Your Way meet-up with 28 of us plus a doggy (if we counted right)☀️

It was lovely to see so many new faces joining us today. We had a great mix of walkers, joggers and runners, with everyone enjoying the morning together.

We were also able to hand out some of our 5K Your Way socks. Don't worry if you didn't get a pair or couldn't make it today—we still have some left!

Massive thanks to Pip for getting us cake even with being a little under the weather. Hope you feel better soon.

A few members of the group will be taking part in the Race for Life tomorrow. If you're free and fancy showing your support, they'd love some extra cheers along the way. 💜
