As we celebrate A Million Acts of Hope week, we mark our churches as places of Hope and Welcome using our new Caritas Diocese of Plymouth posters and banners. Look out for one of these at your local church and let us know where you have spotted them. Here Canon John Deeny in Launceston gets his ready for the first parishioners who will see them at this evenings Ascension Mass.

🫶An invite to a free CAFOD webinar sent by our CAFOD Plymouth Diocese lead Gerard Wilson:

‘You will hopefully have received a pack in the post containing our new campaign resources for this summer. It’s all about the global debt crisis. This is a petition for parishes to sign, and we’d be delighted if you are able to do this in your parish, any time from 1 May to 1 September. To support you we have our debt webinar for volunteers and supporters on Tuesday 26 May from 1pm to 2pm. It’s lunchtime because of connections in South Sudan. HOPE HAPPENS HERE
This week from the 13th - 20th May we have invited all of our churches to stand in solidarity with A Million Acts of Hope campaign. This national initiative celebrates the everyday acts of kindness, care and connection happening across the UK. Shining a light on the everyday acts of hope and the people and communities that make them happen. Caritas Diocese of Plymouth has designed a Welcome banner utilising the 75 languages that have been identified in each of our parish communities. Each church this week will display a poster version of the banner, and we invite you to take a look and see how many languages you can recognise. We know that our congregations are a great witness of Welcome and belonging to all. Look out for future banners and flags displayed outside your churches to show the local community that, no matter what your background, you are welcome to come and join in with all of parish life. millionactsofhope.org
