Plymouth Sign People!

We have been busy this week putting the finishing touches to a couple of our projects with snazzy new interpretation boards!

A pedestal board in Radford Park with a link to a special Radford Park and Arboretum webpage which is almost complete and in Pasley Street Pocket Park, 1 pedestal and 2 wall mounted boards which were designed by Stoke In Bloom. Great to work with them to help transform this little part of Blockhouse Park.

These boards were funded by the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest.

It's hot! And it's not just us humans who get thirsty when it's hot - trees do too.

If you have a young tree near where you live, why not sign up to be a PTP Watering Hero. They can't have too much and when the weather is like this, they really need it!

Take a look at the 'Get Involved' section of our website for details and a map of where our young trees are. Let's help them to thrive!

If you haven't got any near you but want to help, you can make a small, monthly donation to help us cover the cost of keeping our trees watered. It's so important - please consider a donation if you can afford it.

Luckily, as well as volunteers, for most of our trees, we have the amazing Bianca and Sam from who are out and about watering all our trees which have been planted with support from

But we don't have funding for all our trees so we really do need donations to help get all these trees established. Planting them is just the first step 💚

Don't forget to water your trees folk!

Sam and Bianca from Millers Cleaning Specialists have been working hard to keep all our young trees watered and we are lucky they have, it's been really dry. Why not pop and say hi to them if you see them about!

While on their rounds they have been doing other great work like reporting issues to us and even cleaning some of the council's signs!

To read about how you can help look after Plymouth Tree People's young trees, take a look at the Watering Heroes section of our website!

These trees are part of the 💚

Superb effort on Friday from our volunteer Tree Wardens in our last tree care session of the season.

We mulched our new trees and sorted out some of the older ones so now they are all looking really smart.

Plymouth Tree People have planted most of the current trees on Pemros Road, having done our first planting session here in 2011. This road used to be famous for its display of blossom in the spring and we are delighted we have been able to keep it tree lined, tha majority of the originals having reaches the end of their lives. The trees are now a variety of species, many of which do produce flowers.

Did you know that street trees can raise the value of homes on the street by around 15%!

Head over to our website project page to see more info about the projects and what varieties we have planted over the years.

A big thank you to all of our Tree Wardens for their hard work over the last year, you are all absolute super stars!

Bianca from has been out and about the last couple of weeks watering our young trees!

These little trees don't yet have a root system large enough to support their canopies so we need to help them for the first few years, until they are established.

This planting season we planted nearly 180 trees so Millers have got a lot to do! And that's on top of the ones they were doing last year. Such a fantastic effort 👏

Funding for the trees and the watering is from the amazing Plymouth & South Devon Community Forest.

The Tamarix we planted on Durnford St are in full bloom and looking absolutely wonderful!

Pity they won't be getting many passers-by while the road is closed - why not take a detour on your way to the yard!

These trees were planted with the support of the Plymouth & South Devon Community Forest and will be maintained by our volunteers and watered by until they are established.
