This September, our much-loved Supported Internship Tutor at Discovery College, Lucy, is taking on the challenge of running the Great North Run to raise funds for YMCA Plymouth.

She has been working incredibly hard on her fitness and weight loss journey. Thanks to her own dedication and some extra push from our fantastic personal trainer, Benji, sheโ€™s feeling fitter, more confident, and ready to take on this challenge! ๐Ÿ’ช

Lucy is aiming to raise ยฃ500, with every single penny going straight back into supporting our local Plymouth community through our vital charitable services here at YMCA Plymouth.

Thanks for bearing with us after our old water fountain broke down recently. But check out the newly upgraded cooler-fountain that has now taken its place. ๐Ÿคฉ

It comes complete with UV filtering, water cooling, automatic start -stop sensors and tracking to see how many disposable bottles of water have been saved thanks to your use! โ™ป๏ธ

Meet Sue, she has been part of the YMCA family for over 30 years! As our Group Fitness Coordinator, she teaches everything from Spins and BodyPump to Cardio & Core.

For Sue, the best part of the job is seeing how much our members achieve and helping everyone get fitter while having a great time.

A few fun facts about Sue๐Ÿ‘€ She holds a 4th-degree black belt in taekwondo and even ran her own martial arts school for sixteen years. One of her party tricks is that she can still do the split!

A huge well done and a BIG thank you to Sam from First Class Support, who completed this year's Plymouth Half-marathon on Sunday in aid of our vital YMCA services for young people and our community! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’›

New to running Sam, has been on a big journey over the past year to get ready for this event. He's been training at our gym and running at the weekends, which has helped him make a huge personal transformation in his own Health & Wellbeing.

Sam raised over ยฃ500 for a range of our work, including guidance and support for disadvantaged young people, food poverty work and our health & wellbeing services helping vulnerable people get their health back on track. ๐Ÿ’›
