Supporting Integration Through Education

Our Refugee Integration Pathway Project continues to make a positive difference by providing intensive ESOL courses alongside CV writing and employability skills workshops.
By improving English language skills and preparing participants for employment, we are helping refugees build confidence, become more independent, and successfully integrate into their local communities.
At GLADCA, we believe that education, opportunity, and support empower people to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

GLADCA ANNUAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2026

🏏 What an incredible day at the GLADCA T10 Cricket Tournament 2026! 🏏

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us to make this year's tournament such a fantastic success. It was a wonderful celebration of sport, friendship, diversity and community spirit.

Congratulations to Kashmir Lions on being crowned our 2026 Champions! 👏🏆

This tournament was particularly special as it showcased the success of our GLADCA Community Cricket Club, launched earlier this year in February 2026. Every Thursday and Friday evening, the club brings together young people and adults at Jack Hunt School to improve their health and wellbeing, build confidence, develop leadership skills and create lifelong friendships through cricket.

One of the proudest moments of the day was seeing four players who started their journey at our cricket club proudly representing GLADCA in the tournament. We also ensured that financial hardship was never a barrier by providing cricket shoes to players who otherwise would not have been able to participate.

We were honoured to welcome six international professional cricketers, who joined the GLADCA team and inspired our young players with their talent, experience and encouragement.

It was a privilege to welcome Councillor Dr Shabina Quayyum, High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire Francis Burkitt DL, council officers, local police, community partners and supporters. Their presence highlighted the importance of investing in grassroots organisations that bring communities together and create positive opportunities for everyone.

A heartfelt thank you goes to Dr Muhammad Nawaz and our Trustee, Salman Khan, who have been the driving force behind the GLADCA Community Cricket Club. Their passion, commitment and countless hours of coaching, mentoring and organising have made this project a tremendous success.

We would also like to thank The National Lottery Community Fund for supporting this project, along with all our volunteers, players, umpires, supporters and partners. Your dedication made this event possible.

At GLADCA, we believe cricket is more than just a game—it is a way to unite communities, inspire young people, improve wellbeing and create opportunities for everyone.

Here's to an even bigger and better tournament in 2027! 💙🏏

NADHRA CARD SURGERY

Today, GLADCA successfully hosted the NADHRA Card Surgery, supporting nearly 100 people from our community with their applications, renewals, and enquiries.

A heartfelt thank you to the NADHRA team, our dedicated staff, and volunteers whose hard work, professionalism, and commitment made the event such a success. Your efforts ensured that so many people received the support they needed in one place.

At GLADCA, we remain committed to delivering accessible services that make a real difference to our diverse communities.

What an absolute delight it was to attend the National Diversity Awards showcase today at HSBC ,Birmingham.

To see GLADCA shortlisted as a finalist is, in itself, an incredible achievement and a proud moment for our organisation. As one of Peterborough's longest-standing community organisations, serving our communities for over 50 years, this recognition reflects the dedication of our staff, volunteers, trustees, partners and everyone who has supported our journey.
It was also inspiring to meet so many outstanding finalists and nominees from across the UK. Hearing their stories of compassion, resilience and commitment to making a difference reminded us that together we are building stronger, more inclusive communities.

While only one organisation can take home the award, every finalist is already a winner for the positive impact they make every single day.

Thank you to the National Diversity Awards for an unforgettable event, and to everyone who has supported us throughout this journey. This is not the end it's another milestone in our story, and we remain as committed as ever to building stronger, fairer and more inclusive communities.
