A vibrant celebration of the cultures and traditions of Bulgaria,Greece, Romania,Hungary, Slovakia,Czechia, Lithuania,Latvia,Poland,Ukraine and Roma communities, showcasing diversity, heritage and unity. The European Cultural Heritage Festival is a vibrant celebration of our shared cultures and traditions, bringing together communities from Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech, Lithuania, Latvia and Roma, showcasing the richness of our diversity in a joyful and inclusive event. Our goal is to create a colourful and inclusive event that fosters friendship and intercultural exchange—through authentic cultural showcases that are also welcoming to all. This is an opportunity to foster mutual understanding, celebrate national identities, and build lasting intercultural friendships through music, dance, food, crafts, and family activities.

The European Cultural Heritage Festival was honoured to welcome our distinguished guests, organisers, sponsors and supporters for a day celebrating culture, community and shared European heritage. ❤️

The festival was organised by ZI Foundation and Little Bulgaria UK ("Малката България",) two charities working together to bring communities together through music, dance, food, traditions and cultural exchange.

We were deeply honoured to welcome a distinguished group of guests, including Julie Spence OBE CStJ QPM, Lord-Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire; His Excellency Tihomir Stoytchev, Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the United Kingdom; Paul Bristow, Mayor of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough; Councillor Dr Shabina Qayyum, Leader of Peterborough City Council; and Councillor Andrew Bond, Deputy Mayor of Peterborough.

Their presence meant a great deal to our communities and helped highlight the importance of celebrating Europe’s living traditions here in Peterborough.

A huge thank you to our 25 wonderful volunteers, who came from different communities and countries and gave their time, energy and kindness to help everything run smoothly. A special thank you also to City Councillor Alex Rafiq for Paston & Walton , who volunteered on the day and showed beautifully how councillors can be directly involved in supporting and serving their communities.

A special shout-out to our amazing host, Kev Lawrence, for guiding the day with warmth, energy and professionalism. From welcoming our distinguished guests and performers to keeping the programme flowing and engaging the audience, Kev helped bring the whole festival together beautifully. 🎤✨

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to our sponsors Peterborough Positive, Kaimas Lithuanian Restaurant and A2B EURO CARS for their support in making the festival possible. 🙏

The festival bazaar brought together a beautiful mix of culture, creativity, flavours and community spirit from across Europe. From handmade crafts, jewellery, embroidery, gifts and traditional items to delicious food, sweet treats, cultural stalls and charity causes — every stall added something special to the day. ❤️

A huge thank you to all our wonderful stallholders for sharing your talent, products, traditions and stories with the festival visitors. You helped turn Stanley Park into a colourful celebration of European heritage, where people could not only watch and listen, but also taste, explore, discover and connect. 🍲🎁🌿

Thank you also to everyone who visited the bazaar, supported small businesses, spoke with community groups, tried something new and helped create such a warm and lively atmosphere throughout the day. ✨

🇧🇬 Bulgaria at the European Cultural Heritage Festival 2026!

What an incredible burst of energy and joy from Bulgaria! ❤️🎶
A huge thank you to Stanislav Dimov, Rosi Piano & Vocal and Folk Dance Formation 'Bulgaria' Midlands UK for bringing such incredible energy to the stage with powerful bagpipes, beautiful singing, and lively traditional dancing. The atmosphere was full of joy, with the audience joining in the celebration and dancing along 💃🕺✨

🇬🇷 Greece at the European Cultural Heritage Festival 2026! A heartfelt thank you to Choropatimata - Cambridge Greek Dancing and Sevasteia - Pontic Greek Society of London for bringing the energy, music, and traditions of Greece to the festival ❤️🎶
