Thank you to Blu Sky Accountants, in partnership with Venture Zero, for hosting a B Local Netwalk around the North Shields Mural Trail https://elevationcio.com

These “Walk and Talk” events are designed to bring together business people for conversations and networking in a relaxed setting, with some fresh air and local culture thrown in.

It was great to be able to show off the Elevation Mural Trail and other North Shields artworks to such an interested and enthusiastic group.

Thanks to the Bait Box too for a much needed and delicious coffee at the mid-point of the walk!

The Elevation mural trail that took North shields by storm last year has now been made accessible to a wider group of people.

More people can connect with the stories, ideas, and creativity that the murals represent through rich audio descriptions of each mural, now available on Soundcloud.

This means that people living with visual impairment, sight loss and blindness can now enjoy these exciting artworks.

The audio pieces offers a rich, considered description of each artwork - its visual composition, themes, and the story behind it - so that listeners can build a mental picture and connect with the piece in a meaningful way.

The young artists love Anthony's mural, which was created for the Elevation Walls mural festival https://elevationcio.com

Some of them pass it every day on their way to school, or travelling around town, and they were excited to find out that Anthony also lives in North Shields!

They used his work to explore contrasting colours, light and shade, lines and perspective. It's fantastic that the North Shields murals and local artists are inspiring youngsters to explore their own creativity.

'Spirit of Shields' by local mural and graffiti artist Mark One87 is a perfect example of how art is transforming North Shields - changing the mundane and utilitarian into something beautiful that's rooted in our heritage, with a hopeful vision for our future.

"(Mark's) design for the Elevation wall mural festival is a spectacular homage to the fishing industry in North Shields with a depiction of a modern day fishing boat in the wild waves of the North Sea, counterpointed with a beautiful sunlit vision of the old Fish Quay, which is central to the history of the area and provides a visual balance between the past and the present."
