🎄 CHRISTMAS DAY AT THE PAVILION
Following the success of last year’s Christmas Day meal, we’re hoping to do it all again this year.
Last year we provided Christmas dinner deliveries. This year, we’re hoping to offer a sit-down Christmas meal at The Pavilion for those who are able to join us, alongside home deliveries for anyone who is unable to get along.
Our aim is simple: to make sure that nobody in our community who needs a little extra support has to go without a Christmas dinner or spend the day feeling alone.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
Residents of Newtongrange…we would live to open this out further but would we are limited on space/budget etc.
We are accepting referrals for people who meet one or both of the following criteria:
🎄 Those unable to provide or cook a meal for themselves or their family due to health or financial circumstances.
🎄 Those who are isolated and have nobody to spend Christmas Day with.
Places for the sit-down meal will be limited, so all requests will be considered through a referral process.
A NOTE ABOUT TIMES
We haven’t confirmed the exact timings just yet. Depending on the number of referrals and the space available, we may need to offer two sittings. Further information will be provided once we have an idea of numbers.
HOW CAN YOU HELP? ❤️
We are looking for:
🙌 Volunteers – to help with preparing and cooking meals, serving on the day and delivering dinners to those who can’t make it along.
❤️ Genuine referrals – these can be self-referrals, or referrals from family, friends, schools, nurseries, organisations or adults receiving support.
💷 Community donations – we are also looking for members of our community who would like to help fund this year’s Christmas meal.
Whether it’s £1, £5 or £10, every little contribution will help us put a Christmas dinner on someone’s table.
There will be no charge for anyone receiving a meal. Donations are entirely voluntary.
A LITTLE NOTE ❤️
We understand that asking for help isn’t always easy. All referrals will be treated sensitively and confidentially. There is no judgement and absolutely no need to feel embarrassed. Sometimes we all need a little helping hand.
Let’s pull together once again and make sure that everyone who needs a little kindness and company this Christmas gets it.
