This summer, MYPAS' LGBT project has been busy playing sport! We've invited coaches from a range of different sports to come and play with us, including BADMINTONscotland, Dunedin Fencing Club and Scottish Archery, as well as heading out to visit sites across Midlothian and Edinburgh for other activities!
We aim to make sport accessible for everyone, helping to level the playing field for LGBT young people, who are disproportionately less likely to engage in physical activity. That includes young people with a wide range of access needs, including one young person who attends with their star service animal! We work with LGBT young people aged 12โ21, of all physical abilities, to empower them to try new things and discover what sports or movement work best for them and their bodies.
When we're not playing sport, MYPAS' LGBT project works hard to provide social groups and 1:1 support for young people across Midlothian and East Lothian, ensuring they can access safe, inclusive support services that meet their needs ๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ.
