The PTA would like to say a huge thank you to Bramblewood Farm who generously donated some sausages for the BBQ. Not all sausage rolls were Bramblewood so if you missed out get along and check them out. If you did get to try them I’m sure you’ll agree that they’re delicious.

Bramblewood are a start-up family farm in Pathhead, Midlothian, dedicated to the principles of regenerative agriculture. Their goal is to become an affordable local producer of high-quality, nutritious, and ethically raised food, including pastured eggs and grass-fed meat. They have a wee honesty shop selling the most delicious eggs and pork.

They have kindly given us a code for money off.

And some more thank yous!

A huge thank you to the core PTA team for organising the fair in the run up. From the BBQ specialists, sign makers, float managers through to the logistics specialists it really was a team effort. It’s pretty big undertaking and for a team who all have work commitments it can be a bit of a juggle. You know who you are. Thank you.

To the team who supported on the BBQ. Thank you! They were delicious!

To the new recruits who ran the mini Olympics this year. Thank you so so much. The kids loved it and it did look like some of the parents were enjoying themselves too!

To the teachers, EYPs and SLT who help out every year. Thank you so much. The children and families love having you there and we couldn’t have such a great day without your support.

And finally a big huge KP cheer and clap to the 50 plus parents / family members who supported on the day on stalls.

Thank you to everyone who attended the KP PTA summer fair. We have so many thank yous to say - from the volunteers, to the teachers and to the local businesses who supported us. BUt we’ll keep those for dedicated posts later in the week.

But for now the biggest thank you is to the KP community. Thank you for showing up and supporting it. We hope you had fun and your kids didn’t eat too much sugar 🤦‍♀️🤣

In total we raised over £3100. Every single penny will go into the school from play equipment through to books. Thank you so much.

Ps We also took over 550 star tokens. We do these so every child can enjoy the event and to reduce the cost for every family regardless. We’ve had so much positive feedback since we launched them in response to the cost of living crisis! Although one PTA members child used them purely on the soft toy stall and got huge toys …. Maybe we do need a rethink! 🤣

Help!! We are short of three volunteers to run stalls 11.30-1pm tomorrow. We’re looking for one person for each of these three stalls - pocket toys, poo in the loo ( a future fav!) and chocolate square. If you can help please drop us a message on here!

Final PTA meeting of the year is tomorrow night (Tuesday 2 June) at 7pm in the upper school.

Whilst the summer fair final planning will be discussed we’re also covering playground markings, new benches and other playground plans as well as getting an update on PTA spending priorities from Mrs Renton and Mrs McCabe.

So if you have any suggestions for the playground, for play equipment or anything else PTA related then come along. Or if you just fancy watching the penny drop about just how much there is still to do for the fair and the sheer panic on this chairs face then come along. All welcome.

We’ll be collecting for the summer fair at the gates on Friday or you can drop donations off at the school office at any time.

We’re looking for:
- Soft toys
- Tombola prizes (bottles, unopened toys and gifts, candles, boxes of chocolates or biscuits)
- Jars for the jar stall (essentially jars filled with du things or sweets!)
- Pocket toys (used but complete and not broken small toys)
- Children’s books (not baby ones please)

New stall alert!! We have two new stalls planned for this year -crack the code and….. poo in the loo. Both promise to be loads of fun 😂🫣

But we need volunteers. We currently only have enough people to run half of the stalls. We really don’t want to have to run a smaller fair than normal so please volunteer to help out.
