The lovely David and Sarah, who were lifelong fosterers of our beautiful Nico, are doing the Glasgow Kiltwalk on 26th April in memory of Nico who died last year. ❤️. All proceeds are in aid of SSBTR.

Given recent press about some poor practices in rescues, we want to confirm that we are very proud members of the Association of Dogs and Cats Homes.

This means we are bound to specific practices (and inspections) to ensure we continue to maintain high standards as a reputable rescue organisation.

Our web forms for adoption, fostering and surrendering a dog have been acting up for a while. Unfortunately they now do not work at all 😞

We’re working on an alternative for the meantime while we look at our options to bring us more up to date. Please bear with us and hopefully we can have a temp fix asap

Sadly, on Tuesday, our beautiful wee old man Nico went to the bridge. Nico was one of our long term foster dogs who had been with Sarah and David for a few years. Absolutely devastated😢

Nicos mum and dad pay tribute to him:

“Thank you for bringing Nico into our lives. It may have only been for a short few years but they were the best years. He barrelled through our front door and into our hearts immediately. We remember being surprised at how quickly he settled in with us and how loving he was right from the start. He was a strong wee boy who loved running about, snuffling everything in reach, and coorying in for cuddles whenever possible.
He had a fair few health problems from the start and we won't pretend it was always easy, but we wouldn't have changed our time with him for the world. We're so proud that we were able to give him a safe, loving retirement home and three extra years of adventures from Liverpool to the Black Isle and so many places in between. He had so much fun with us and we have so many happy memories to cherish.
Nico captured the heart of everyone who met him. Two of our nephews were scared of dogs but his gentle and calm nature helped them to come around. He will be sorely missed by our whole family.

Nico passed really peacefully at Vets4Pets Cumbernauld around 4.30 yesterday, eating Isle of Mull Cheese surrounded by blankets and love.”

People like David and Sarah are so special. Sending much love and eternal gratitude 💔
