In 2018 Newry and Mourne Co-operative and Enterprise Agency successfully secured a second round of funding for the Work4UPlus2 pro

gramme from the Big Lottery in partnership with the Education Authority and Future Proof (Formerly REACT). The programme operates from its own unit in the RDC, WIN Business Park, Newry and is managed by Pauline Coghlan. In 2013 Newry and Mourne Co-operative and Enterprise Agency secured funding from the Big Lottery Fund’s Reaching out: Empowering young people programme, to deliver the WORK4UPLUS programme, in partnership with Barnardo’s, the Southern Education & Library Board and REACT.

One of the groups had completed their 9 month course with the Work4Uplus programme. As a reward for their hard work we took them to Watchtower for a game of Bubble Soccer followed by paint-balling! They thoroughly enjoyed the day out.

Young people on the Work4Uplus programme completed a session on Drugs & Alcohol Awareness with our partner Banbridge Youth Engagement Service. Excessive use can lead to chronic diseases, addiction and other serious problems.
There was also a fun element to the session as they enjoyed the experience of wearing 'Drunk Googles' and how alcohol effects their co-ordination and ability to perform. There was also testing for the presents of chemicals in Vapes,

Some or our young people completed a full day training session gaining experience with Connie McGrath Make-Up Artist in the use of Prosthetic Make-Up with 'Into Film' at Screenwork's.
The Screenwork's programme explores careers in the industry sectors of Film. The girls had a fantastic time with Connie introducing them to 'Casualty effects (bruising, wounds, burns).
Thank-you to all involved with the programme as the girls really enjoyed and benefitted from the in-depth training provided.
