Young people deserve better than a quick fix.
The debate around social media and online safety is important, but creating a safer digital world requires more than simply restricting access.

At YMCA South Midlands, we believe technology companies must be held accountable for the environments they create, and young people must have a voice in shaping the solutions that affect them.

Recently, residents from our Northampton campus participated in a three-day fire safety course, delivered by Northamptonshire Children's Trust. The course gave our young people the opportunity to develop new skills, build their knowledge, and gain hands-on experience in a professional setting.

For one resident, the experience was particularly inspiring and has even sparked an interest in pursuing a career in firefighting.

At YMCA South Midlands, we're committed to creating opportunities that help young people build confidence, explore their potential, and take positive steps towards their future.

YMCA South Midlands is proud to BACK THE BID for Milton Keynes to become the UK City of Culture 2029.

Culture has the power to bring people together, create opportunities, and help communities thrive. As an organisation that supports young people across Milton Keynes, we know how important it is that everyone has the chance to belong, contribute, and be part of something bigger.

A successful bid would shine a national spotlight on the creativity, diversity, and ambition that make Milton Keynes such a unique place to live, work, and grow.

Now we need your help.
Get involved, share your ideas, and help show why Milton Keynes deserves to be City of Culture 2029.

Gareth Southgate's documentary, Changing the Game for Young Men, shines a light on challenges many young people are facing today.

At YMCA South Midlands, these are issues we see every day. That's why supporting young people with the right opportunities, trusted relationships, and positive pathways forward has never been more important.

If you're a local business, partner, community leader, or decision-maker, now is the time to invest in young people and their futures.
