Brighter Futures Together CIC Creating partnerships & projects to boost young people's mental health & wellbeing

The scope of our work ranges from local (Marlow area) to regional (Thames Valley)
to national. We are a small but mighty team with extensive experience of the youth sector
and a passion for making a difference. Our focus is on developing community Youth Work Programmes to help empower young peopleโ€”supporting them helping them build friendships, get involved in positive activities, and connect wi

th their community. In everything we do we have one aim โ€“ to help young people enjoy brighter, better days, filled with opportunity, empathy and hope.

๐Ÿ’› Last week, two of our team had the pleasure of attending the Autism Early Support charity ball.
It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate 25 years of supporting children, young people and families.
The warmth, energy and care throughout the evening was a real credit to the whole team and was evident in every detail.
Congratulations on this incredible milestone, and thank you for making us feel so welcome.

This week Brighter Futures Together turns 4 ๐Ÿ’›

Four years ago, BFT started with a belief that some things could be better for young people and families, bags of determination and a willingness to give it a go.

Since then, we've run groups, launched projects, worked with schools, supported families, trained professionals, influenced services, built partnerships and learned a huge amount along the way.

Some ideas have taken off in ways we never imagined, while others have helped shape what came next.

Looking back, what makes us most proud isn't the projects themselves. It's the people.

The young people who have trusted us. The families who have supported us. The staff, volunteers and partners who have shared the journey.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of the story so far ๐Ÿ’›

Here's to the next chapter...

Same activity. Different ideas.

One of the things we love about our Saturday Space LEGO Robotics group is seeing how differently young people approach the same activity.

Some like to think things through first. Others prefer to jump in and see what happens.

There isn't just one way to approach it, and that's part of what makes sessions like this so enjoyable.

๐Ÿš€ Plenty of creativity. Plenty of fun.

Young people inspiring young people ๐Ÿ’›

One of the best things about our Home Education Young Enterprise group is when young people get the chance to hear from people who have actually done it.

Josh, founder of Mustardโ€™s Miracle Services, joined the group to share his journey of starting a business in Year 8, what he has learned along the way and some of the challenges he's faced.

One thing that really stuck with us was:

"Follow what you love and what you have a use for yourself."

A big thank you to Josh for taking the time to share his experience with the group. We can't wait to see where their own ideas take them.

Small groups. Big interests. ๐Ÿ’™

Saturday Space is our collection of clubs for neurodivergent young people aged 10โ€“16.

Our groups take place at Marlow Youth & Community Centre, but young people join us from across Buckinghamshire and beyond. If the group feels like a good fit, we'd love to hear from you.

Whether it's building in Minecraft, creating art, exploring robotics or simply spending time with people who share similar interests, Saturday Space is all about helping young people find something they enjoy and somewhere they feel comfortable.

Our groups are kept small, friendly and welcoming, with support from our experienced youth work team.

We have June taster opportunities coming up before our next programmes begin.

No diagnosis required.

Starting secondary school is a big change, and Audiobook Buddies has been designed to support neurodivergent Year 6s through that journey.

Young people come together after school to share a story through books, audiobooks and activities inspired by what they've discovered along the way.

Each young person receives their own copy of the book and audiobook to keep, thanks to our partnership with national charity Calibre Audio.

The group starts before the move to secondary school and continues into September, giving young people the chance to spend time with familiar faces and be part of the same group during this important transition.

A couple of moments from our Thursday night group ๐Ÿ’›

Cooking together, cinema nights, good food and familiar faces.

We keep these evenings smaller and relaxed on purpose. This time of year can feel busy for lots of young people, so having a chance to properly switch off, laugh, eat good food and enjoy the evening matters.

Supporting neurodivergent young people to engage with reading in different ways.

Weโ€™ve teamed up with Calibre Audio (a national charity) to deliver this session alongside our Neurodiversity in Schools Adviser.

This session focuses on simple, practical ideas to build engagement and confidence, and remove some of the barriers that can get in the way - including the use of accessible formats such as audiobooks.

For SENCos, teachers, TAs, librarians and others supporting young people in schools.
