The scope of our work ranges from local (Marlow area) to regional (Thames Valley)
to national. We are a small but mighty team with extensive experience of the youth sector
and a passion for making a difference. Our focus is on developing community Youth Work Programmes to help empower young people—supporting them helping them build friendships, get involved in positive activities, and connect wi

th their community. In everything we do we have one aim – to help young people enjoy brighter, better days, filled with opportunity, empathy and hope.

Fancy doing something that makes a bit of a difference?

We’re looking for two volunteer Youth Support Assistants to come and get involved with us at BFT in Marlow.

These are voluntary roles, designed to be flexible and fit around work, family and whatever else life happens to throw at you.

If you’ve already got experience working with young people, brilliant. If you haven’t, that’s absolutely fine too — we can teach you that bit.

What matters most to us is finding the right people. People who enjoy spending time with young people, are happy to muck in and fancy being part of what we do.

We’ll give you plenty of support and training along the way. And if you fancy taking things a bit further, there’s also the opportunity for a fully funded place on our nationally recognised Level 2 Award in Youth Work Principles.

Interested? Send us an email at [email protected] before Monday 14 September and we’ll send you some more information.

And if this isn’t for you but you know someone who’d be brilliant at it, give them a nudge. 💙

Gerald, our unofficial BFT mascot, has been on something of a wellbeing holiday over the summer.

They've spent some time in Windsor getting a few repairs, a bit of TLC and a very good brush.

We've also heard they may have spent some time in the dungeon at Windsor Castle.

We haven't quite got to the bottom of that one yet...
Anyway, they're back home and looking rather fabulous. 🦒

We've always been a team with big ideas.

One that's been bubbling away for quite some time is how we could do more to support and invest in the people doing youth work.

And we've finally got something to share...
Have a swipe.
We're rather proud of this one. 💙

Every young person deserves a trusted adult who believes in them.

Can we ask a little favour?

Q Hub is growing, and we're looking for another LGBTQ+ Youth Project Coordinator to join our team.

Working alongside our Senior Worker, you'll lead and deliver LGBTQ+ youth groups, build trusted relationships with young people and help create spaces where they feel safe, valued and able to be themselves.

You'll have the opportunity to shape sessions, build local partnerships and play a part in the next chapter of Q Hub as it continues to grow.

Because it's a flexible zero-hours role, it could be a great opportunity alongside another job or other commitments if youth work is something you're passionate about.

🌈 LGBTQ+ Youth Project Coordinator
💷 £15 per hour (PAYE)
📍 Buckinghamshire, Slough & East Berkshire

📅 Applications close at 10am on Monday 10 August, although we may close earlier if we find the right person.

Now for that favour...

We have a feeling someone brilliant is already in your world.

Someone who naturally connects with young people.
Someone who believes every young person deserves to feel they belong.
Someone who'd be brilliant at this.

If someone came to mind while reading this, we'd love you to send this their way.

One conversation can change a young person's future. It might just start with this post.

Thank you. 💙

We were looking back through these photos from Saturday Space, and this one activity really stayed with us.

Every young person started with their own square. There was no expectation for everyone's artwork to look the same. Everyone created in their own way and at their own pace.

Some chatted while they worked. Others worked quietly. Some filled every inch of their square, while others took a completely different approach.

As the artwork began to come together, every square still reflected the person who had created it.

Every square kept its own character and became part of something bigger.

It was a lovely reminder that you don't have to do things the same way to feel part of something together. 💙

Has learning more about your child's neurodiversity made you curious about your own?

It's a conversation we've had with many parents and carers over the last few years.

As they've learnt more about their child, many have started recognising familiar strengths and challenges in themselves too.

Those conversations inspired us to create ND Me.

Developed by Brighter Futures Together in partnership with Professor Amanda Kirby, Founder of Do-IT Solutions, ND Me combines the established Do-IT Neurodiversity Profiler with a small, supportive group workshop.

Together, they provide an opportunity to better understand how you think, learn and experience the world—and what that might mean for you in everyday life.

This isn't about diagnosis. It's about understanding yourself, reflecting on your experiences and deciding what feels right for you.

📅 Thursday 23 July
🕤 9.30am–12.30pm
📍 Marlow Youth & Community Centre

We're looking for just 8 parents and carers to take part in this first ND Me pilot.

As one of our first pilot groups, participants will also have the opportunity to share feedback, helping us shape future ND Me opportunities for parents, young people and adults.

💙 If you know a parent or carer who might be interested, we'd really appreciate you sharing this post.

Before our Thursday Night Youth Group...
Every Thursday starts long before the doors open.

Our team spends time getting everything ready because we know that the environment matters. We intentionally keep this group small so young people have the opportunity to build friendships, feel known and develop a genuine sense of belonging.

Every activity, every space and every little detail is there to help create a welcoming environment where young people can relax, connect and simply enjoy being themselves.

Because every young person deserves somewhere they belong. 💙
