💥 L98 Shoot 💥

This weekend, 3 of our cadets and 1 staff member (CI Tarrant) attended a Wing Training Weekend at RAF Benson, where they successfully completed their Initial Weapons Training and their first shoot on the L98.

In total, 5 members of our squadron took part, with CI Hardman delivering the Initial Weapons Training—an excellent effort all round!

A huge thank you to all the staff who volunteered their time to make this opportunity possible 👏

📢 BLUE AND BRONZE RADIO 📢

Last weekend our staff and cadets took part in the Blue and Bronze Radio Courses.

On Saturday, 14 of our cadets passed the Blue Radio Course run at the Squadron.

On Sunday, 1 of our Cadets completed their Bronze Badge on a county course lead by our Adjutant, Cpl Beck and supported by one of our NCO’s, Cpl Ayling.

Thank you to all the cadets and staff who supported the smooth running of these courses!

Remembrance Parade 2025

Yesterday, 1811 (Marlow) Sqn took part in the annual festival of remembrance in Marlow.

The cadets did us so proud, with 38 members of the Squadron parading.

🌟 RAF Wittering Camp 2025 🌟

At the Beginning of the Summer, Corporal Pizzardi attended RAF Wittering Camp 2025. She had an incredible week combining heritage, leadership and adventure.

The week began by paying respects at the American War Cemetery and exploring aviation history at IWM Duxford. Visits to RAF Honington, 5001 Sqn and the Defence Animal Training Regiment gave the cadets insight into the breadth of RAF roles, while STEM activities, leadership training and section visits at RAF Wittering built valuable skills.

Alongside this, the cadets tested themselves with karting, Laser Force, a drill competition and swimming — with plenty of teamwork and laughs along the way.

A week to remember, packed with learning, challenge and camaraderie.

🎖️Henley Mayor’s Cadet🎖️

We are proud to announce that Cpl Barron has been appointed as the Mayor’s Cadet of Henley!

Cpl Barron joined 447(Henley) Sqn in August, 2023. Throughout his time at Henley, he supported numerous community events, including marshalling the Henley Half Marathon, collecting for the Poppy Appeal in support of the and taking part in the Henley Remembrance Parade.

When 447(Henley) closed earlier this year, Cpl Barron joined our Squadron. In the short amount of time he has been with 1811(Marlow), he has become a true asset to our team.

This prestigious role is a true reflection of Cpl Barron’s dedication, commitment, and exemplary service to both the RAF Air Cadets and the local community. Well done Cpl Barron!

🛩️ RAF Henlow 2025🛩️

This week 4 of our cadets and one of our staff attended the Last RAF Henlow camp.

We had an action packed week, kicking things off by building our confidence and teamwork on the Bronze Leadership Course, before diving straight into the rich history of aviation with a visit to Duxford. From there, the pace only picked up – mastering Arms Drill at RAF Halton in the morning and then pushing ourselves on the high ropes in the afternoon.

Midweek took us to RAF Honington, where we explored the station armoury and gained a deeper understanding of the RAF Regiment at their museum. The next day, we crossed over to the Army’s world at Chicksands – seeing the working dogs in action and learning about the many roles different sections play in operations.

To round it all off, Friday brought the challenge of a drill competition, followed by a poignant visit to the American Cemetery – a chance to reflect on the sacrifices that allow us the opportunities we have today.

To end our week on a high, our very own FS Ashton was awarded Best NCO!

An incredible week of skills, history, teamwork and experiences we won’t forget.

🥁 NCO DEVELOPMENT 🥁

Earlier this month our FS Ashton ran a development night for our NCO Team.

The NCOs had a crack at organising a Blues Camp, improved their drill commanding and took part in team building activities.
