Mujawarah Continues Community Initiative Facilitators Training

As part of the Community Initiative Facilitators Training Programme, Mujawarah for Life and Development continued the third phase of the programme, focusing on Designing and Leading Community Initiatives.

The session explored the foundations of designing community initiatives based on local needs and priorities, methods for transforming ideas into practical initiatives, and the essential skills required to lead initiatives, build collaborative teams, and strengthen community participation throughout the planning and implementation process.

This phase forms part of a broader learning pathway aimed at strengthening facilitators’ capacities to design and lead effective community initiatives that are participatory, locally grounded, and capable of creating sustainable positive change.

مجاورة تواصل لقاءاتها التدريبية ضمن برنامج ميسري المبادرات المجتمعية

استكمالاً لبرنامج تدريب ميسري المبادرات المجتمعية، واصلت مؤسسة مجاورة للحياة والتنمية تنفيذ المرحلة الثالثة من البرنامج، والتي تتمحور حول تصميم وقيادة المبادرات المجتمعية.

وتناول اللقاء أسس تصميم المبادرات المجتمعية انطلاقاً من احتياجات المجتمع وأولوياته، وآليات تحويل الأفكار إلى مبادرات قابلة للتنفيذ، إلى جانب المهارات الأساسية لقيادة المبادرات، وبناء فرق العمل، وتعزيز المشاركة المجتمعية خلال مختلف مراحل التخطيط والتنفيذ.

ويأتي هذا التدريب ضمن مسار يهدف إلى تعزيز قدرات الميسرين على تطوير وقيادة مبادرات مجتمعية فاعلة، ترتكز على المشاركة، وتسهم في إحداث تغيير إيجابي ومستدام في مجتمعاتهم.

إستكمالاً لتدريب ميسري المبادرات المجتمعية، تستكمل مؤسسة مجاورة المرحلة الثانية التي تتمحور حول البحث بالمشاركة بقيادة أ.سعيد أبو غزة، حيث إندمج 18 متدرب في اللقاء.
تناول التدريب مفهوم البحث بالمشاركة، أدوات البحث بالمشاركة، وأهمية التشارك مع المجتمع في إنشاء بحوثنا، قراراتنا، تصميم المشاريع والبرامج المجتمعية.

As a continuation of the training program for community initiative facilitators, Mujawara Foundation is carrying out the second phase, which focuses on Participatory Action Research (PAR), led by Mr. Said Abu Ghazza. with engaging 18 trainees in the session.

The session covered the concept of participatory action research, its tools and methods, and the importance of collaborating with the community in developing our research, making decisions, and designing community projects and programs.

What Is the World Afraid of in Refugees?

At first glance, this appears to be a question about refugees. In reality, it is a question about our societies: about the distance between the values we proclaim and the practices we accept; about systems that ask people to start over while placing their knowledge, experience, and memories at the margins.

It is also a question about societies that focus more on what refugees need than on what they bring; and about a politics that has found hostility easier than confronting the real causes of failure. Refugees are blamed for crises they did not create, while anti-refugee rhetoric increasingly becomes part of the race for votes.

On World Refugee Day, Maree Bashir, Founder and Director of Mujawarah, writes from his lived experience about refugees in the United Kingdom and about the life that begins after survival — where questions of dignity, belonging, and integration do not end at the border, but begin there.

ما الذي يخشاه العالم في اللاجئين؟

سؤال يبدو للوهلة الأولى أنه عن اللاجئين، لكنه في الحقيقة سؤال عن المجتمعات نفسها: عن المسافة بين القيم التي نعلنها والممارسات التي نقبلها، وعن الأنظمة التي تطلب من الإنسان أن يبدأ من جديد بينما تضع خبرته ومعرفته وذاكرته على الهامش.

هو أيضاً سؤال عن مجتمعات تبحث في اللاجئ عما يحتاجه، أكثر مما ترى فيه ما يستطيع أن يقدمه؛ وعن سياسة وجدت في خطاب الكراهية طريقاً أسهل من مواجهة أسباب الفشل، فصار اللاجئ يُحمَّل أزمات لم يصنعها، وصار العداء له جزءاً من مزاد انتخابي لكسب الأصوات.

في اليوم العالمي للاجئين، يكتب مرعي بشير، مؤسس ومدير مجاورة، من تجربته الحية عن اللاجئين في المملكة المتحدة، وعن الحياة التي تبدأ بعد النجاة؛ حيث لا تنتهي أسئلة الكرامة والانتماء والاندماج عند الحدود، بل تبدأ منها.

The Forum of Cooperatives in Palestine held an extended panel discussion entitled “Sustainability and Cooperative Independence through Self-Investment, Financing, and Fair Partnerships”, organised by Mujawarah for Life and Development – United Kingdom, in partnership with the General Cooperative Union – Palestine.

The discussion explored ways to strengthen the financial independence of Palestinian cooperatives, develop self-investment tools, and build fair partnerships that support sustainability while preserving the cooperative identity.
