Charity of the year - news..

We are delighted that RSM Accountancy have chosen Kidneys for Life as their Charity of the Year! They have already been busy fundraising with lots of tea and cakes being sold plus one of their lovely staff completing the Windermere Lap event – running round Windermere with a few fells thrown in along the way – it took just over 11 hours and was a 47 mile ultra marathon!

We are delighted to share that on the 12th June Gin on the Lane in Wigan are hosting an evening of live music, all in support of Kidneys for Life. If you close by and would like to pop in I'm sure they'd love to see you 💜

Happy Monday 💜

Thank you so much to our wonderful team of runners who completed the Great Manchester Run yesterday. We had a fantastic day welcoming our wonderful supporters at the Clayton Hotel Manchester City Centre.

Our team included a big group from Octagon House Dialysis Unit, a Sister who is about to donate a kidney to her Brother, a daughter running for her Mum, A Dad running for his Daughter, a Granddaughter running in memory of her Grandfather, 2 Children's nurses, a fantastic Husband and Wife team and a supporter who has had 2 kidney transplants.

Everybody we met yesterday was simply wonderful. Times weren't important for reasons for being there were. We are delighted to still have money coming in so will update our total very soon.

Thursday thank you💜

A great big and brave thank you today goes to Michelle Milne who has chosen to do a wing walk for our lovey charity in August..... we love it when our supporters are wonderful and daring 🛩️

Michelle's Dad needed dialysis before he passed away from kidney failure in 2023 and now her husband is under the care of Salford Royal Hospital for a kidney issue. Along with a big birthday coming up this year these are fantastic reasons to do such a thrilling challenge.

Michelle has already raised over £300 in just a week so we would like to wish her huge luck and of course lots of fun for this exciting day 💜

Happy Tuesday 💜

We’re starting this shorter week by getting ready to welcome our Manchester 10K and Half Marathon runners on Sunday!

The running vests have been sent out, race numbers have arrived, training runs are complete, and our 29 incredible runners are ready for the big day.

Every member of Team KFL has their own special reason for taking part. The medics and nurses from Team Octagon are joining us, Jiya is running in memory of her grandfather, Hattie is taking on her very first running challenge, and Maria — one of our amazing long-time supporters — is running after receiving two kidney transplants. These are just a few of the inspiring stories behind this year’s team.

Manchester run day is always very special to Kidneys for Life and atmosphere means so much to everyone involved.
