This Dementia Action Week, we’re celebrating what people living with dementia can do when they have the right support 💚

Every day at Together Dementia Support, we see people cooking, creating, laughing, helping others, building friendships, and continuing to be an important part of their community.

Last year, we supported 935 people across Manchester affected by dementia - including 422 people living with dementia and 513 carers.

We’re not a commissioned service, which means we rely heavily on community support to keep our groups and activities running.

So, in the run-up to and throughout Dementia Action Week, we’re asking our community to get involved however they can. Donate, attend an event, share our posts, or simply help spread the word.

We’ve launched our Dementia Action Week campaign and would love you to take a look 💚

💙 Team TDS is heading to the Great Manchester Run this month!

Chris, a member of our Walk and Talk group, and Jill, her partner, are walking the 10K race to raise vital funds for people affected by dementia across Manchester.

They’ll be walking alongside Anne from Team TDS. There’s still time to get involved. We have a limited number of 10K places left, and you don’t need to run the whole thing - walking or wheeling (or a bit of both!) is absolutely welcome.

If you’ve been thinking about it… this is your sign 👟

This is what a dementia hero looks like 💙

Christine is one of our amazing volunteers who gives her time, kindness and energy to support others every single week!

Dementia Action Week is just over a week ago, and we’re celebrating the people who show up, day in and day out.

⛰️ NEW CHALLENGE ALERT ⛰️

We’re taking on the Derbyshire Three Peaks Challenge this August, and we’d love you to join Team TDS!

On Saturday 8th August, we’ll be walking 33km across some of the Peak District’s most stunning (and toughest) terrain - Kinder Scout, Bleaklow, and Higher Shelf Stones - to raise vital funds for our work supporting people affected by dementia in Manchester.

It’s a full day in the hills, but you’ll be fully supported by experienced guides from Tink Adventures, and you won’t be doing it alone.

We’ve got 20 places available, no sign-up fee, and all we ask is a minimum of £150 fundraising.

If you’ve been looking for a challenge with real purpose behind it, this is it 💙

Sign up to do this incredible challenge today 👟

✨ We’re proud to be a partner organisation for Carers Manchester

At Together Dementia Support, we see every day the dedication, resilience and love that unpaid carers give to family members living with dementia. Caring can be rewarding, but it can also be exhausting and isolating, which is why events like this matter so much. 💛

The Carers Celebration Evening is all about celebrating carers across Manchester. Attendees will enjoy a three-course meal, entertainment, and be recognised for their hard work and dedication.

General admission tickets are on sale now via tinyurl.com/2yz8u95e

Should be good to watch!

An overly attentive, socially inept pain in the arse 📸 Here's your first look at Ann Droid, coming to this summer

Starring Diane Morgan, Sue Johnston and Paul Ready, the comedy series asks: what is replaceable and what is not?

As funny as it is poignant, Ann Droid tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a woman and a social humanoid robot, created to keep elderly people company and monitor their health.

A huge thank you to Brad for running the London Marathon for Together Dementia Support and raising an incredible £505 💙

Bradley chose to support TDS after experiencing the impact dementia had on his great-grandfather and family. We’re also so grateful he recognised the importance of supporting carers for those living with dementia.

It was a tough day in the heat, but Bradley powered through and completed an amazing achievement! We’re really grateful he thought of us and took the time to share his story and photos from the day.

Thank you again, Bradley. Your support genuinely makes a difference here in Manchester.

And if Bradley’s story has inspired you, we still have a few places left for the GMR 10K at the end of this month. If you’d like to walk, run or roll it for TDS, we’d love to have you involved 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ https://www.togetherdementiasupport.org/post/join-team-tds-at-the-great-manchester-run-2026

This May, we’re making it easier for people living with dementia—and their carers—to enjoy a much-needed break in nature 🌿

In support of Dementia Action Week (18th–24th May), we’re running special holiday offers throughout May (until 1st June 2026).

✨ £500 off all mainland UK holidays
✨ £800 off June holidays to Cornwall and August holidays to the Kingdom of Fife
✨ Carer Goes Half Price offer extended for Scottish Highlands holidays

These experiences are only possible thanks to our amazing fundraisers and supporters, including People’s Postcode Lottery 💚

Their support helps us create safe, supported holidays where people living with dementia can connect with nature, build confidence, and share meaningful moments together.

Book this May and help make space for rest, joy, and connection: https://ow.ly/xUrn50YRKez

Last week was Global Intergenerational Week ☀️

We had a brilliant Wednesday Walk & Talk in the sunshine with our group, joined by Year 4 pupils from St Mary's Primary School

We wandered through Alexandra Park 🌳 on a history trail led by Sue the Park Ranger with lots of chatting, questions, and a few “I never knew that!” moments along the way.

There’s something really special about different generations just spending time together like that 💛
