Women in Media Conference

Women in Media Conference Welcome to Women In Media. We're here to change things.

Women in Media 2023

This April, we will be running the eighth groundbreaking student conference celebrating women in media and hearing their stories. This year's conference will be a fully in person event, taking place in the University of Manchester's Students' Union from the 21st to the 23rd of April. We are going to invite influential women who have succeeded in careers including journalism, t

elevision, filmmaking, radio, music, writing, blogging, and photography, to participate in talks, workshops, panels, and Q&As. The conference is being organised and run by a team from the Manchester Media Group, the media wing of University of Manchester Students’ Union. We are all aspiring to work within the media and have already come across obstacles as women at a student level, we aim to change this and empower other students to do the same.

Women In Media 2026 is proud to have chosen Prevent Breast Cancer as this year’s charity! As a cause that is close to many of the committee’s hearts, we couldn’t be more delighted to raise awareness of this incredible charity! All proceeds from this years event will go directly to Prevent Breast Cancer 💜

Prevent Breast Cancer is the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer – we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. And being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
