TiPP We are committed to the idea that the participatory arts have the power to transform people's lives for the better.

We would like to see the arts playing a part at all levels of the Criminal Justice System. "TiPP work from the belief that the arts have the power to transform peoples lives. We develop and implement participatory arts projects and undertake training for Artists and for professionals working in the Criminal Justice System."

TiPP has many birthdates, but January 1996 was when we were registered as a company. We will be sharing images and sounds from our 30 years over the next few months and this is by way of a taster.

🎨 Exploring Creativity and Justice
Can the arts really help young people move away from crime? This event invites you to reflect on the role creativity can play in rehabilitation and change.
You’ll hear a short talk, watch two powerful films, and take part in an interactive art workshop designed to help you see through the eyes of young people engaged in arts-based justice programmes.
This isn’t about the arts as a “soft option”. It’s about understanding their proven potential to encourage new behaviours, inspire fresh perspectives, and open doors to brighter futures.
đź“… Thursday 6 November, 5-7pm
📍 Martin Harris Centre

Join us in exploring how creativity can support rehabilitation and positively shape young lives.
Not suitable for those under 15.

TiPP are the 2024 winners of the Made in Manchester Culture Award.

On Wednesday 23rd October 2024 we acted as host to the most marvellous Jan Cohen-Cruz. Jan is one run the UK to talk about her new edited collection See Me: Prison Theatre Workshops and Love. Here she is in the University of Manchester's John Thaw Theatre. There are some brilliant contributors to the book from TiPP friends far and wide including Saul Hewish, John Bergman and Jess Thorpe. And the forward is by TiPP's Director, Simon Ruding. It offers a new perspective on our work in prisons and is well worth a look.
