📢 We're recruiting for a Lead Support Worker! ⬇️

This role ensures that people who have been refused asylum are supported throughout their time in Boaz accommodation: from being referred, to moving in, to moving on from Boaz (our housing is temporary, and is usually provided for up to 12 months).

We are looking for someone who:

✅ Can deliver a high quality, trauma informed and person-centred service for the people we support.
✅ Proactively improves processes and paperwork to support the team and service delivery.
✅ Is well organised and makes effective use of time, striking the balance between line management and Lead responsibilities, face to face support, completing case notes, reports and other required documentation, whilst being flexible enough to accommodate changes in plans and priorities.

Great to see another new room ready for someone to move into soon! 🧡🔑

While it’s so important to be able to continue offering people experiencing homelessness the safety and stability of a room in a Boaz house, it’s equally important to see people moving on positively from Boaz into their own homes.

Through the ongoing support of Boaz staff, many people do move on positively from our houses - often into private rented accommodation. During their time with us, we offer people support tailored to their needs that helps them achieve the goals they’re aiming for. We also offer training workshops like ‘Renting Ready’ to help people find and sustain private rented tenancies.

When people move on, we’re there to support them practically as they make the transition. If you’d like to be part of this, a gift of £45 could provide a starter pack of bedding, towels and cleaning supplies for someone with refugee status moving on from Boaz into their own home 🏡 You can make a donation today at boaztrust.org.uk/give

“For me, the biggest change was having my space, you know, a space where you can sit, relax, think. And it gave me time to focus my energy on getting employment. I moved in in August and by November, I had full time employment. That was the biggest change.” - Halima*

At Boaz, we see what can happen when people have the headspace and security that comes from stable accommodation 🏡🧡

You can now read more of Halima’s story on our website at boaztrust.org.uk/stories
