Those who volunteered at Cornerstone will remember Sr Lucy
It is with great sadness that we share the news that Sister Lucy Dunne, a member of the Franciscan Missionaries of St Joseph, passed away peacefully on 10 April 2026.
Sister Lucy was a deeply loved, wise and compassionate presence in the life of Caritas Salford. Over many years of service at the Cornerstone centre in Manchester, she walked tirelessly alongside people experiencing homelessness, poverty and isolation with extraordinary care and commitment.
Countless lives were changed through her kindness, her listening and her steadfast presence and we give thanks for her life, her faith and her service. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, her religious community and all who knew and loved her.
