It is just a month to the Malmesbury Magical History Tour weekend - Friday 10th July to Sunday 12th July . For three exciting days we're lifting the lid on Malmesbury's amazing past. Meet characters you know, and others you may never have heard of, at places they made history.

The Live Street Theatre show - a 90 minute spectacle visiting eleven special locations across the town centre is unique. There are just 6 performances on Saturday afternoon and 6 on Sunday afternoon and audience size at each is strictly limited.

The town centre will also be full of free fun activities and experiences. The Eilmer teddy bear zipwire, Ragged School classes, medieval medical tent, dress up parades and much more. Don't just come to the Street Theatre, keep your Saturday and Sunday daytime diary clear! The full programme and timetable will be out before the end of June.

Plus we've got the treats of Tony McAleavy's new talk, 'Malmesbury - The First 3,000 Years' on Friday 10th at 7:00pm and our imaginative search for 'Malmesbury's Greatest Historical Rogue', where the audience decides, on Saturday 11th at 7:00pm.

Tickets for Tony's talk, Malmesbury's Greatest Rogue event and the Live Street Theatre are on sale now at https://malmesbury.gov.uk/what-s-on/magical-history-tour and the Town and Tourist Information Centre in the Town Hall.

Let's have fun!

Who is Malmesbury's greatest historical rogue? There are lots of candidates. Come along and hear the case being made for the very best (or worst?) of them by six of Malmesbury leading presenters. And then narrow the selection until there is just two and the final vote!

It will be a super fun evening and a memorable part of the Malmesbury Magical History Tour. Tickets are just £10 at https://www.malmesbury.gov.uk/what-s-on/magical-history-tour or from the Town and Tourist Information Centre in Malmesbury Town Hall.

* The Tamworth Two - Fun facts

• The "Tamworth Two" are a famous pair of pigs (named Sundance and Butch) who made worldwide headlines in January 1998.
• They escaped from an abattoir in Malmesbury, spent a week on the run—which included swimming the River Avon—and eventually won a public reprieve from an untimely end.
• Their ‘under-pig’ story has inspired books, songs and even a BBC drama; their time evading capture and resilience has become a part of British folklore.
