Mirka from Find Your Active - West Essex joined our Saffron Walden support group sharing practical tips on keeping fit and looking after wellbeing.

The session sparked fantastic conversations, with Carers swapping ideas, sharing experiences and encouraging one another to stay active in everyday life.

This , we're celebrating the importance of carer-friendly communities - places where unpaid carers are recognised, understood and valued.

Our support groups are a great example of this in action, bringing Carers together to connect, support each other and access information that helps them maintain their own health and wellbeing.

A huge thank you to Mirka for helping us create another welcoming space where Carers can learn, share and feel supported 💙

Building carer-friendly communities starts with working together. 💙

As part of Carers Week 2026, we welcomed Kinder Essex Maldon, Citizens Advice Maldon & District and the Alzheimer's Society to a special coffee morning for carers connected to our Day Centre.

With cake, conversation, mindful crafting and helpful support from our guests, it was a lovely opportunity for carers to connect and find out what's available to them.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the morning such a success. Together, we're building carer-friendly communities. 💙

Every carer's journey is unique, but no carer should feel they have to face it alone💙

"What we need to be doing is talking about caring more openly, so that carers are recognised and valued for what they do, know support is out there, and access it as early as possible." 💙

Our CEO, James Clarke, joined Ben Fryer on BBC Essex to discuss the realities of unpaid caring, the support carers need and deserve, and what building carer-friendly communities really means.

Creating carer-friendly communities is something we can all play a part in – by recognising carers, understanding their challenges, and helping them access support before they reach crisis point.

This week is , a chance to recognise the vital contribution unpaid carers make across our communities 💛

This year’s theme, ‘Building Carer Friendly Communities’, reminds us how important it is to listen to carers and make support easier to find. We recognise how essential carers are and remain committed to making caring a little easier.

Our Essex Carers core offer, delivered by Carers First, Action for Family Carers and Essex Carers Support, provides vital support, advice and services for unpaid carers across Essex. These services work in partnership with wider carers organisations to help ensure support is easy to navigate

To every carer: You’re seen, valued and never alone.

Rain or shine, there’s always fun and friendly competition happening at our Day Centre 🎯💙

Thanks to a donation from Active Essex, our clients have been keeping active and entertained with mini carpet bowls and curling sets - perfect for days when it’s too hot or too wet to get outdoors! Safe to say everyone loves a bit of healthy competition 😊

Our Day Centre gives clients the chance to meet and socialise with others in a similar situation; sharing memories, chatting, laughing and enjoying activities together.

At the same time, their carers can take some well-deserved time for themselves, knowing their loved one is safe, supported and having fun 💙

A huge thank you to the wonderful volunteers at the Tea Room at St Peter’s Hospital in for nominating Action for Family Carers to receive a generous £150 donation 💙

The tea room, run by Provide Community, chose to support a local charity and we are so grateful for their kindness and community spirit. The team also visited our offices and brought along some delicious cakes for our Maldon Day Centre clients to enjoy 🍰

Thank you for your support – it really does make a difference to local unpaid carers and their families.
