Jono Lancaster

Jono Lancaster is a truly inspirational public speaker and self-love advocate. After being born with Treacher Collins syndrome, Jono’s parents abandoned him at the hospital due to the way he looked. As an adult, Jono aims to use his story to inspire and educate audiences to overcome adversity and embrace uniqueness. Through his talks, he actively promotes disability awareness, diversity, and inclusion, making him a highly sought after speaker for motivational keynotes.

As a child, Jono faced bullying and many other societal challenges during his school years because of his facial differences. His family’s constant support encouraged Jono to embrace his differences and develop resilience and confidence throughout his life. Taking this advice, he transitioned his life and became a renowned public figure, author, and speaker. In 2019, Jono co-founded the Love Me Love My Face Foundation, which he set up to raise awareness of Treacher Collins Syndrome and craniofacial conditions. Aiming to successfully support families and educate individuals, organisations and the public.

Using his platform for good, Jono went on to feature in many TV programmes to raise awareness of his condition. Some examples include Love Me, Love My Face on BBC Three and Embracing Differences on This Morning, ITV. Jono also personally led a four-part series following the experiences of people with facial differences, called Love My Face on Channel 4. More recently, he has authored bestselling ‘Not all Heroes Wear Capes’ a novel where he shares his personal journey and gives advice to anyone who might be struggling through difficult times.

His advocacy work and impact in the space of disability, diversity, and inclusion make him a must- see for any professional working with families who have additional needs.

Cecilie Fjellhoy | women empowerment

Cecilie Fjellhøy received international attention after she shared the story of her personal financial fraud nightmare. The Tinder Swindler became the most-watched documentary of all time on Netflix. It showcased a group of women, all victims of a dating app-based fraudster, who teamed up to hunt him down and recover the millions of dollars that were stolen from them.

A senior UX designer for software business Sopra Steria, Cecilie’s life changed dramatically after the events depicted in The Tinder Swindler series. Leaving the tech industry, she co-founded the LoveSaid Organisation with Anna Rowe, which aims to assist the victims of fraud by providing practical and mental health support, as well as education and training on the strategies used by fraudsters.

With a decade of expertise in user experience design and innovation in the tech industry, Cecilie saw an opportunity to use that knowledge to further the anti-fraud cause. With experience working with digital identity and the banking system, she passionately advocates for the inclusion of the victims’ voice in discussions around changes to process, law and regulation, a message she has taken around the world.

Cecilie shares her gripping, moving story, raising awareness of fraud, and destigmatising those taken in by increasingly sophisticated perpetrators and technology. Covering everything from online trust to cyber security, digital identity to mental health, diversity and resilience, she challenges audiences to be empathetic, cautious and informed.

Helping local children get ready for the new school year

This summer, Sheriff Construction is proud to be supporting The Level Trust, a local charity that helps children and young people across Luton overcome the barriers of poverty. Alongside making a company donation, we've launched a school uniform drive at our office and are collecting good-quality uniform items to help local families prepare for the new school year.

If your children have recently outgrown their school uniform, we'd love to give those items a second life by passing them on to The Level Trust. New uniform essentials are also very welcome. Simply bring your donations to our office at Runfold Avenue any time you’re passing by over the coming weeks. Every donation, no matter how big or small, can make a real difference to a child starting school with confidence.

We'll share an update later this summer to let you know how the collection went.

Family Futures

Stephen is the Therapy Services Manager at Family Futures. He is an experienced Dance Movement Psychotherapist with a passion for supporting the emotional and physical wellbeing of children and young people. His work is grounded in the understanding that mind and body are deeply interconnected, and that every child experiences, communicates, and makes sense of the world in their own unique way.

Stephen believes that movement, creativity, play, and relationships offer powerful ways for children and young people to express themselves, especially when words are difficult or are simply not the most meaningful form of communication. His practice creates spaces where young people can explore their experiences, recognise their strengths, develop a greater sense of agency, and feel genuinely seen and understood.

Passionate about supporting the professionals who work alongside children and young people, Stephen invites educators, health professionals, family workers, and leaders to think differently about wellbeing. Through his therapeutic expertise, leadership experience, and compassionate approach, he challenges audiences to recognise that emotional and physical wellbeing are inseparable, and that when we embrace difference, value diverse ways of communicating, and build relationships rooted in curiosity and connection, we create the conditions in which every child and young person can flourish.

Scotty Mills

Scotty Mills is the highest-ranking black officer in the history of the Royal Marines and led Britain’s Commandos around the world. He shares his lessons of leadership and resilience working as a performance coach and how to get the best out of the teams you work with and why this is important for professionals who work with children and young people. As an advisor to the FA, he worked closely with Gareth Southgate, Harry Kane, and the England Football Team to help them reach the World Cup semi-final.

Scotty has an international reputation for his ability to use his experience to inspire others and help them overcome their limitations. He continues to work with the nation’s top sports teams and Olympic teams to develop innovative leadership, team cohesion and peak performance. His compelling journey highlights the power of human inspiration and his lessons on how to achieve impossible results and how to make a winning team are transferable to any organisation. His book Never Give In draws on his experiences in the Marines and shares how the ‘commando’ way of thinking provides elite performance and helps anyone, in any organisation, reach targets and transform their way of thinking.
