Street Pastor Report
22nd November 2025

In attendance. K D,H,G

The day was Raining quite hard and cold.
We met at St Mary's Church to prepare and pray before we went out on patrol.

Inspite of the weather the town was very busy as the council had put on entertainment and the lighting of the Christmas trees outside the town hall this day.
We were well wrapped up as we walked into town there wasn't many homeless people about, then we learnt the council's yellow jackets teams were about which answered why!
There were lots of family's out in the town enjoying the good atmosphere, despite the weather.
We said hello to lots of people as we walked through the town and on our way up around the bus station.
We made our way back through the Point back into the town centre as it was nearly time to light up the trees.
Lots of people, family's had gathered to see it, and people joined in singing Christmas songs as the band played. After the lighting ceremony we helped family's take photos of them with thier phones. we started to walk back through town and a couple of homeless men asked if we could help them to get them something to eat as they haven't been able to get anything as they had been kept moving on by the council. So we stopped and bought them a burger and hot drink each. They were so happy to get something to eat.
We then headed back to St Mary's church very wet and cold.
As always we prayed for all those we met and gave thanks, as always giving God all the praise, honour and glory
Thankyou for reading this report

Saturday 13th September 4-7pm patol

were a small team of 3 ie F. G. and S. After prayers in the meeting room, we headed out on our usual route. It was not too hot and not too cold. There were a lot of people out. We greeted a lot of people on the way to the square . Just after Wetherspoons ( where the lads on the door offered us a drink which we thankyou but declined )
we met an AfroCaribbean woman who said she was a Pastor at the High Street Methodist Church ( presumably Leagrave ) . We chatted to her for a bit and she wished us a good patrol. G also gave her a Luton Street Pastors card. We then went in search of the venue for the AGM and found it on Alma Street and established where the nearest car park was if needed.

Then we headed on up past the bus station where there were a lot of noisy football supporters (Portsmouth we think )whose team had just beaten Luton and were departing somewhat loudly on their journeys back from the station.
We then turned the corner and went down the alleyway next to Starbucks. Half way down we encountered a fellow in a tent whom we have met before called S. He was very pleased to see us and had a very positive outlook. He said he had been thinking about the Street Pastors the day before but had not seen them. I believe that was the evening the patrol was not able to go out. He could not wait to share his good news that he had been allotted a bed which he would be able to take up as of Wednesday. He was looking forward to the future and shared with us the struggles he had endured with addictions and the loss of 2 members of his close family. He was determined to sort himself out once and for all and live a better life. We were of course thrilled to hear his news and offered to pray with him which he was very keen to have. F ( who is gifted with the right words for every prayer for every situation ) supplied this.
No sooner had we left S than we encountered a mother and daughter pair also AfroCaribbean F and V. who were asking about our role and our work on patrol. They too were interested so we explained our role and also gave them a card. We thought the square would have a lot of people in it, so we decided to return via there. While in the square we saw a family not far from Costa and it s neighbouring deli. We noticed a lot of loose glass on the ground near to the family. We did not want the child to hurt themselves on the glass, so we delved into the backback and got out the brush and shovel and swept up all the glass we could find.
Over the coarse of the evening the totals for collecting glass bottles was maybe 6, cans 6,bottles and 2 drinking glasses. As we headed back towards Macky Ds' we found a group of 3 who could have been Irish folks K, M and a male . K declared she was starving but we said we did not have any cash on us and were not allowed to give out money. Later on the same person came to ask me for food and I explained we do not carry any with us. Then F remembered the small packets of Sparkles we each carry in our pockets and she was very happy to receive those. The older woman M seemed quite chilled out but the younger one was very agitated. They asked for prayer which was supplied and it was eagerly received. Again F s skills in leading the prayer were great. There was one more homeless person we saw outside the bank who appeared new to the streets and was very wary and nervous. Prayers we thought were needed for this young man, whose name we did not learn. Then as we were heading back to our base who appeared but J reporting he was well after his surgery. He prayed he could walk and have no pain and both of these have been achieved for which he is very thankful. However he stressed again that post operatively he had been let down by family and other people who said they would help him with accommodation... but did not. He mentioned he needs a new key worker because the one where he lives is not doing anything to help him. He would be amenable to accepting a bungalow if it was offered to him. Otherwise he will move away to another town after Christmas. We reminded him he is known in this area and the chances of him getting the type of accommodation he wants is better in Luton, where he is known. Then we returned to Saint Mary s parish church for prayers .

God bless
Sue

Luton Stree Pastors
Patrol report
Saturday 30th August 2024
8pm til midnight

We gathered at St Mary's Church to pray and prepare to go out.
We were joined by two observers that wanted to come out with us.

There weren't many people about as the night was wet and fairly cold as we walked into town, we said hello to those we passed. We came across an older man sitting on the floor outside mc Donald's who was sitting in the rain, getting wet, so we stopped and chatted to him for a few minutes, when we offered him a space blanket to put around him to help keep the rain off. As we chatted it became apparent he had not eaten for a couple of days so we offered to get him something to eat, which he was so pleased that we would do that.
He told us of his circumstances and asked if we would pray for him, so we did. Whilst we were there a lady we know also asked if we would get her something too,
We then moved into and around St George's Square, again not many people about, so we walked upto the bus/train station picking up Cans and glass bottles.
As it wasn't busy we cut through the back of the Point and rested inside for a while, whilst the rain pored down.
After a while it stopped and we left to go back outside down the ramp where we saw a lady laying on the floor asleep with no covers on her, but we did not want to wake her so went just past her where we met a couple that wanted to know what street pastor are about. So we had a chance to tell them about why and who we represent and we were there to show the love of Jesus in a practical way, and to let people Jesus loves them.
They were so pleased to hear the good news and thanked us. In all the time chatting with them we were also keeping an eye on the laddy asleep, when another lady came over to us and said she'd been listening and asked if we had seen the lady asleep on the floor, which we said we had and we were going to give here a blanket to help her get a bit warmer which we did.the rain continued as we made our way back to base where we talked about those we had met and prayed for them giving thanks to our Lord Jesus for letting us be his hands and feet that evening.
Thankyou for reading this as your support is so welcomed
God bless

Street Pastor Patrol
Friday 8th August 2025
8pm til midnight

As usual we gathered at St Mary's Church to prepare and pray before we went out.

We started out on our normal route into town, there were quite a few people walking about. We were met by a young man who we had met before, he explained the situation he was in and hadn't eaten for two days, we offered to get him something to eat and he became over come with joy. He came with us to the shop whilst we were there another young man that we had seen before was outside and we chatted to him as we came out and again we offered him something to eat. One of his friends was passing by and said thankyou for that as he had no money so he couldn't by his friend anything and was so pleased that we were there for him. We prayed for both men and his friend .
As we walked a bit further along we were stopped by this older lady that saw we were street pastors and asked if she could talk to us, We said yes and she started to tell us about her low mood as she lost her husband who had passed away two years ago and she also lost her mum a couple of months ago.
We stayed with her for some time just listening and giving comfort and encouragement to her
We prayed for her and wished her well and hoped to see her again.

We walked into St George's Square which was quite busy where we picked up bottles and cans, we stopped and sat awhile in the square, just watching and praying.

We continued up to the bus/train station chatting to people and saying hello to lots of them as we passed. We continued on our way back through the Point centre stopping to chat with door staff and security men inside the Point who asked us what we were doing, so we had a chance to explain what Street Pastors was about but more importantly who we represented.

We made our way back through town stopping and chatting to people and more door staff.

We made our way back to St Mary's where we debriefed and prayed for all those we had met and been able to help
We thanked Jesus, for without him this would have not been possible
