On June 15th 1215 Magna Carta was sealed. Clause 35 mentions ale. That's why Beer Day Britain is on June 15th.

Here is the wording of Clause 35 in English and the medieval Latin it was originally written in.

“35. Let there be throughout our kingdom a single measure for wine and a single measure for ale and a single measure for corn […]

We were delighted to announce that The Orange Tree, Baldock is CAMRA County Pub of the Year 2026. That's 3 years in a row!
Rob Scahill is landlord of 'The Tree' and new Chair of CAMRA North Hertfordshire, who was, on the Friday, volunteering at Hitchin Beer & Cider Festival. When told, Rob said:
"Woohooo!!!!! Thank you so much!!!! I’ll wait for the Facebook post!!!!"
