Girlguiding

Girlguiding We're for girls, with girls, by girls. We're Girlguiding. How will your story start? Girlguiding is the leading charity for girls and young women in the UK.

Thanks to the dedication and support of 100,000 amazing volunteers, we are active in every part of the UK, giving girls and young women a space where they can be themselves, have fun, build brilliant friendships, gain valuable life skills and make a positive difference to their lives and their communities. We build girls’ confidence and raise their aspirations. We give them the chance to discover their full potential and encourage them to be a powerful force for good.

Bringing together the original and little badge books, these new books include every badge for each section in 1 place. Shaped by feedback from girls and volunteers, they’re even easier to use - helping girls keep track of what they've done and discover what they'd like to try next.

See the new badge books or read our badge book guide for more info on the changes we've made, the different books for each section and where Rangers can find their badges, as well as answers to common questions.

POV: you're at Girlguiding HQ to make your old uniform into something new 🪡✨

Last week sustainable designer Lydia Bolton hosted a free workshop at our ICANDO space in London - we were joined by a group of very enthusiastic crafters who turned old uniform scraps into fun personalised keyrings!

If you have old uniform items that can't be worn or passed on to someone else, an upcycling project is a great way to reuse and recycle. Search 'upcycle uniform' on our website to find our activities and give it a go yourself!

Video description
Three girls walk catwalk-style towards the camera. They stop and shake their upcycled uniform keyrings together. We see a pan of a workshop set up, with groups sitting at tables working on sewing projects. In the foreground is a handmade trefoil shape covered in beads. 'Uniform upcycling with Lydia Bolton' appears on-screen. Various shots of girls and women working on sewing projects follow, along with shots from above showing fabric scraps, threads and hands working. Girls plait pieces of fabric together, dig through tubs for beads and laugh with their adults. The video ends with girls shaking their finished keyrings at the camera.

How many interest badges do you have?

A Brownie had an idea for a badge to celebrate girls who earned them all. She wrote to us, came up with a slogan, and even designed her own badge! We heard from many girls, members and volunteers who told us they wanted this too.

We've now launched 4 new fun badges for those who've got every interest badge, and 4 brand-new scratch-off posters so girls can track their badge progress.

You spoke. PGL listened.

After chatting with Girlguiding volunteers about residential adventures in February 2026, PGL has been working behind the scenes to turn your feedback into action. From matching Girlguiding's 1:6 Brownie ratios for new bookings and building downtime into schedules, to improving accessibility, signage and mealtimes, they're making adventures even better for our members.

What a weekend! 💙

New members of Amplify and Pioneer came together at Beaudesert Activity Centre for a joint induction residential packed with team building, adventures, and opportunities to connect.

From high ropes, kayaking and zip wire challenges to workshops, games and project planning, members spent 3 days getting to know each other and preparing for the exciting work ahead of them.

A huge thank you to our co-chairs, volunteers and staff who made it all possible ✨

Calling all crafters! 🪡

Whether you're looking for a fun activity for these last weeks of the summer holidays or planning unit meetings for the autumn term, our new uniform upcycling toppers are a great way to get crafty.

Created with Stitch Point Studio, these activities are perfect for adults and girls alike to explore creativity in a sustainable way. If you've decided to buy some new uniform items and you're wondering what to do with your old uniform, you could use it to make a crossbody bag, a teddy bear's pillow, a scrunchie or a zip pouch!

These toppers are beginner-friendly but aimed at those with some sewing experience, and we recommend them for older Brownies and above. And of course, if you can donate your old uniform to someone else who will use it - please do!

Did you know 80% of garments in our new uniform range are made using organic cotton?

Organic cotton is breathable, comfortable and better for the planet - to keep it in tip top condition, it's important to follow the washing instructions. We've included fabric composition and care info on every product page, and we've created this a handy guide to caring for your new uniform 💗
