First day of our Sodexo strike was a strong success, with picket line support from PCS members, Irish Congress, Unison, UCU, Unite, NIPSA and Belfast and District Trades Council.

Gerry Murphy, assistant general secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, said “Irish Congress fully supports PCS members in Sodexo on strike to defend against redundancies. Disputes like these highlight the urgent need for the Good Jobs Bill to progress to debate in the NI assembly.”

BDTUC stated we fully support the PCS call for the highly profitable Sodexo to reverse its planned cuts, stop forced job amalgamations and to work with the PCS to find fair and sustainable solutions.

Unison's Irish regional Secretary Patricia McKeown talked about the campaign to oppose privatisation and profiteering by multinational companies across the public sector.

Maria Morgan, NIPSA deputy general secretary said "NIPSA stands with PCS members in Sodexo, on strike to fight redundancies. Stay strong, comrades. We support you".
