As we start to see newborn deer appearing in Bushy Park and Richmond Park, we are reminding visitors that all dogs must be kept on a lead during the deer birthing season until the end of July 🐕

It is important to give the female deer privacy and respect, by steering clear of nursery areas and always keeping at least 50 metres away from all deer 🚫

On this day 80 years ago The Mall in St James's Park played host to a parade featuring 10,000 servicemen and women, 400 vehicles and over 300 aircraft as part of London Victory Celebrations of 1946 to mark victory in the Second World War ✈️

Ahead of the parade on 8 June, troops from around the world had temporarily encamped in Kensington Gardens as they prepared for the celebrations ⛺

Have you had chance to check out the ornate decorative metalwork around the water tower at The Queen Elizabeth II Garden in The Regent’s Park? 🌺

This metalwork contains handcrafted metal flowers from the Home Nations, all of which appeared in the coronation dress worn by Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953 🌹

You can see this dress in a special exhibition - The Queen Elizabeth II: Her Life in Style at The King’s Gallery until 18 April 2027 👗

We are celebrating our fantastic volunteers across the parks during Volunteers' Week 👏

Throughout 2025, 1,269 individual volunteers contributed a whopping 72,787 hours across 5,382 volunteering sessions across the Royal Parks 🙌

They spent their time assisting us with a huge array of activities, including archaeological digs, gardening, wildlife surveying, public engagement, education sessions, practical conservation, and events marshalling, plus so much more 🌳

Already in 2026, our volunteers have contributed more than 21,000 hours supporting us in the parks 🤯

On this day 82 years ago Operation Overlord - better known as D-Day - began 🪖

During the Second World War, Bushy Park was home to a sprawling military base and it was from here where General Dwight D. Eisenhower plotted the invasion of Normandy and liberation of North West Europe 🗺️
