Join the LSESU Grimshaw Club for a panel exploring what it would take to end the US–Iran crisis and secure a lasting agreement.
The panel features Gabrielle Rifkind and Oliver McTernan, mediators who bring opposing political and religious leaders into dialogue, and Lord Ahmad of Wimbledon, a former UK minister for the Middle East and United Nations. They are joined by Ellie Geranmayeh, whose work spans Iranian politics and nuclear diplomacy, and Dr Sidharth Kaushal, RUSI’s specialist in naval strategy and maritime security.
Drawing on their experience, the discussion will examine how mediators can create openings for negotiation, whether military and economic pressure encourages compromise, and what concessions Washington and Tehran might accept. It will also consider what could restore reliable passage through the Strait of Hormuz and secure regional support for an agreement.
This event is a give-it-a-go session that does not require membership. No registration is needed, and there will be 70 seats at the venue allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on the day.
This event was organised by Speaker Officers Ilona Prysyazhnyuk and Isabel Koh, Grimshaw VP Belle Venize and Grimshaw President Jinyi Li.
