Meet Mohan - a retired educator and an Action Tutoring volunteer 🌟

Mohan completed his postgraduate teacher training in 2002 and has been a part of the education world ever since. After retiring, he wanted to continue to help learners build skills and confidence.

"Ultimately, volunteering has been far more than a charitable commitment. It has been a deeply enriching experience that has strengthened my empathy, broadened my perspective, and reaffirmed the importance of service, connection, and investing in the next generation," shares Mohan.

Closing the attainment gap can unlock potential for thousands of young people across the country πŸ“ˆ

The data from Education Policy Institute shows that post-pandemic progress has stalled, leaving children 5 months behind before they even settle into primary school. By GCSEs, that gap stretches to 19 months.

We are excited to see how the new government will support pupils facing disadvantage through all stages of education πŸ“š

Congratulations to Paul Waugh MP on being appointed as an education minister 🌟

Last year, Paul Waugh joined us and other education organisations at the launch event for 'From Insights to Innovation: A Blueprint for the Future of State-funded Tutoring' report. He said: "The evidence across the country shows that high-quality tutoring can be transformative, helping pupils to catch up, succeed and access the opportunities they deserve. This report shows that top-up tutoring in state schools can raise standards and help close the attainment gap, and I hope that its findings will be taken on board by the Department for Education”

It's great to have a new Minister who has seen the impact of tutoring in action πŸ’ͺ

Our structured, high-impact maths and English programmes are designed to plug learning gaps, build key curriculum skills, and give pupils facing disadvantage the boost they deserve.

Partner with Action Tutoring as a school to bring heavily subsidised, small-group tutoring directly to your classroom. Our dedicated Programme Coordinators manage the logistics, admin, and volunteer recruitment, delivering measurable academic gains without adding to your teachers' workloads.
