The Arab world has always known how to build from what it has.

From the olive grove to the cooperative, from the old city quarter to the makeshift classroom, people across this region have been finding ways to tend to their communities, preserve what is theirs, and imagine something better. Often without recognition and without resources.

This October, those stories, the people living them, and the people who believe in them, come together in Amman.

Introducing the Arab Impact Summit 2026: a gathering of founders & changemakers, philanthropists, investors, policymakers, and the many others shaping the future of impact across our region.

Over two days, the Summit will move through the city: from plenary conversations about where the region is heading, to immersive gatherings in the cultural and heritage spaces of Jabal Amman that are themselves part of the story we’re telling.

We’ll explore employment and livelihoods. The future of education when systems are in flux. Climate resilience built from local knowledge. And heritage. Not as something to be preserved behind glass, but as something living: a source of identity, of economic power, and of the kind of sovereignty that can’t be granted from outside.

Not simply a conference. This will be a gathering that belongs to this region.

We are pleased to announce the launch of Yalla Nodrus (Let's Study), a national pilot digital learning initiative designed to support Palestinian students with curriculum-aligned content in Arabic, Math, and Science for Grades 5, 7, and 9.

Yalla Nodrus has been developed through a strategic collaboration between Alfanar, Drosos Foundation, Al Nayzak النيزك, Kamkalima, and LAL - Lebanese Alternative Learning – bringing together deep local expertise, high-quality Arabic educational content, and a shared commitment to educational continuity in Palestine.

In a context of prolonged disruption, access to learning alone is not enough. Yalla Nodrus is designed to help lay the foundations for a future national digital learning ecosystem – supporting students, teachers and parents today, while strengthening the systems needed for long-term resilience and scale.

Aqaba Gate is putting Jordan’s port city on the green map. What began with a visit to a factory overwhelmed by textile waste has grown into a pioneering recycling model that converts discarded textiles into raw materials used by more than 100 industries.

The enterprise has already recycled 5% of Aqaba’s total textile waste and created green jobs for vulnerable women, who make up 75%of their workforce. After studying and adapting technologies from 11 European countries, they built a model rooted in local needs — and designed for regional relevance.

Through the EU-funded programme From Innovation to Creation, implemented by SPARK Jordan and Alfanar, Aqaba Gate strengthened its measurement systems, sharpened its operational model, and is now better positioned to scale its environmental and economic impact across Jordan and beyond.

What does it take to build climate-smart livelihoods that last?

For social enterprises like Life Vision for development - رؤية حياة للتنمية, it is not just funding. It is long-term, hands-on support to strengthen business models, improve delivery, and ensure impact can grow sustainably over time.

This year, Life Vision continued to support women farmers across rural Egypt to adopt regenerative practices and build more resilient sources of income — with Alfanar alongside them at every stage.

As we close the year, you can back locally led enterprises like Life Vision that are building solutions designed to last: across employment, climate, education and more.

Cycling Jordan began with a simple question: What if moving around Jordan could be faster, cheaper, and healthier?

From that idea grew a social enterprise using cycling to open up new possibilities — teaching people to ride bicycles, creating income opportunities for youth, and bringing inbound tourists to explore Jordan on two wheels.

Their journey shows what cycling can unlock: university students earning as bicycle guides, new riders gaining confidence and mobility, and communities embracing a more sustainable way of moving.

Through the EU-funded programme From Innovation to Creation, implemented by SPARK Jordan and Alfanar, Cycling Jordan built a solid business plan, strengthened operational discipline, and introduced clear tools to measure their environmental and community impact. With these foundations in place, they are now preparing to launch their application and expand to more cities across the country.
