Are you ready to join the volunteer movement and spark long lasting change?

We're looking for qualified English Language teachers to join a fully funded volunteering placement with VSO in Uzbekistan.

In this role, you’ll work side by side with local teachers as equals, support a national education reform programme, and help to build sustainable locally-led change that continues long after your placement ends.

Through skills‑sharing, collaboration, and partnership, your experience can help strengthen classrooms, confidence, and communities.

Happy World Environment Day everyone! 🌏💚

We want you to introduce you to a phenomenal volunteer named Jovencia, who has been driving environment action in the Philippines since 1987.

As the chairperson of a women’s bio-fertiliser organisation, and a night watcher guarding a local marine sanctuary, she is at the forefront of protecting coastal livelihoods in her community. 👏

Her commitment is sparking a true ripple effect, connecting her community on issues that matter most.

Local environmental champions like Jovencia are proving that sustainable change begins from within the community. What actions are you taking to protect our planet? 👀

As we mark in the UK, we wanted to spotlight the story of Mary Watkins.

Mary transformed everyday items like plastic bottles and bottle tops into engaging and interactive tools for primary school children.

When COVID came about, and travel restrictions were in place, she didn’t let distance stand in the way. Instead, she became an e-volunteer from her home in Wales, training teachers remotely across Ethiopia, Myanmar, Nigeria, and Bangladesh.

By showing educators how to make the most out of recycled materials, schools are now stocked with valuable classroom resources.

These sustainable methods are now being passed from teacher to teacher, igniting a global spark.

We work until no one stands alone. Volunteers like Mary are igniting change across borders, and ensuring that no dream is out of reach for the next generation.

Lamia’s passion for volunteering knows no bounds. 💜

Whether she is mentoring young girls as a Girl Guide Ranger, leading environmental cleanups, or working with VSO, Lamia is a catalyst for change in Bangladesh.

For over six years now, her passion for volunteering has touched almost every corner of her community, and that’s what we love to see.

From teaching life skills in primary schools to supporting local health clinics, Lamia works to reconnect her community and build a fairer society.

VSO volunteers are working until no one stands alone. Multitalented volunteers like Lamia spark others into action, proving that when a community unites, no dream is out of reach.
