💉 FREE FLU VACCINATIONS FOR CARERS AND SOCIAL CARE WORKERS

You may be eligible for a free NHS flu vaccination if you are:

✅ An unpaid carer - this means you regularly care for a child, partner, parent, relative or friend who relies on your support

✅ A frontline social care worker - including people working for a registered homecare or domiciliary care provider

You do not need to receive Carer’s Allowance to qualify as an unpaid carer.

You can get your vaccination through your GP or a participating pharmacy. Eligible adults can also check and book online through the NHS website 👇

Time for yourself. Someone to talk to. A chance to get out and meet others 💙

When you’re looking after someone, these things can make a real difference.

This week, our Head of Communities, Hazel Brown MBE, joined a roundtable hosted by Carers Trust and Liverpool City Council during The Labour Party Conference, alongside Cllr Angela Coleman.

The conversation explored how we can improve local support for unpaid carers, learn from what’s working around the country and make carers’ wellbeing part of everyday life in our communities.

One theme was the importance of the ‘social’ alongside the ‘care’ - something we see every day at Liverpool Carers Centre, where carers can connect, enjoy activities and find support for themselves too.

Thank you to everyone who took part. It was good to see unpaid carers part of these important conversations.

Every child deserves to be heard.

That's why we're supporting the rollout of a new Child Focused Courts approach across Merseyside and Cheshire, designed to reduce delays, better protect victims of domestic abuse and put children's safety and wellbeing first.

We've secured over £677,000 to fund specialist domestic abuse advisers who will help families access the support they need and ensure risks are identified earlier.

Better support. Stronger safeguarding. Better outcomes for children.

💙 “I couldn’t live at home without Local Solutions.”

Lucy is 40 and lives with her husband, Stuart, and their seven year old daughter, Clara. She is also living with Motor Neurone Disease.

As Lucy’s needs have changed, our Homecare team has been there to help her remain safe, comfortable and supported in the place she belongs - at home with her family.

Our carers help Lucy with her personal care, medication, meals and specialist support. But their role goes far beyond completing a list of tasks. It is about familiar faces, reassurance, laughter and helping Lucy continue to feel like herself.

Lucy’s story shows what truly person centred homecare can mean: protecting someone’s independence, preserving family life and helping them remain surrounded by the people they love most.
