❀️ "Being here has helped me start thinking about my future again. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I'm moving forward."

When someone is experiencing homelessness, having a safe place to stay can be the first step towards rebuilding their life.

For Sian, Sunraye provided more than accommodation. It gave her the stability, support and encouragement she needed to focus on her wellbeing, rebuild her confidence and start thinking positively about the future again.

Stories like Sian's remind us that homelessness isn't just about housing. It's about helping people regain hope, independence and the opportunity to move forward.

We're proud to share Sian's story as part of our 2025/26 Impact Report and the impact our teams make every day supporting people across our communities.

Β£32 million.

That's the estimated social and economic value generated by Local Solutions during 2025/26.

But what does that actually mean?

It means a young person finding a safe place to live.

It means an unpaid carer getting the support they need.

It means an older person receiving care that helps them stay independent at home.

It means children and families feeling safer, stronger and more connected.

It means people having someone to turn to when life gets tough.

Every day, our teams support people across Liverpool City Region, North Wales and beyond. The difference that support makes doesn't just change individual lives, it creates a positive impact for families, communities and public services too.

We're incredibly proud that our work generated an estimated Β£32 million in social and economic value this year, but even prouder of the people behind the number.

πŸ’™ What a Carers Week.

Over the course of the week, Liverpool Carers Centre took our "Am I a Carer? I just..." campaign across Liverpool, helping hidden carers recognise the support available to them.

Our team visited hospitals, workplaces, supermarkets and community venues, speaking to hundreds of people and starting important conversations about caring.

From the Royal Liverpool and Aintree Hospitals to community hubs, workplaces and local supermarkets, we met people who never considered themselves carers, despite supporting a loved one every day.

We also delivered Hugs in Mugs packages to carers across the city, hosted our Carers Week Cream Tea and worked alongside partners who helped amplify our message and reach even more people.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped for a chat, shared our campaign, welcomed us into their workplaces and communities, or took the time to learn more about the support available.

Carers Week may be over, but our support continues all year round.

If you support a family member, friend or neighbour because of illness, disability, mental health challenges or age, you may be an unpaid carer.

πŸ’™ We're here for you.

πŸ’™ Our Carers Week outreach may be over, but the conversation doesn’t stop here.

This week we’ve been across Liverpool helping hidden carers recognise the support available to them.

If you’ve ever found yourself saying:

This Carers Week, we're celebrating the people who care in ways they might not even recognise. ❀️

At Local Solutions' Supported Lodgings service, our Householders provide a safe and supportive home for young people aged 16 to 21 who are taking their first steps towards independent living across Liverpool, Sefton, Wirral, Knowsley and Flintshire.

It's more than offering a spare room. It's being there to listen, encourage, guide and support a young person as they build confidence and learn essential life skills.

Many of our Householders don't think of themselves as carers, but the impact they have on a young person's life can be truly life-changing.

This Carers Week, we're saying thank you to our incredible householders and everyone who helps others feel safe, supported and valued.

If you've ever thought about making a difference to a young person's future, Supported Lodgings could be for you.

Many people don't realise they're carers. They simply see themselves as a husband, wife, son, daughter, friend or neighbour doing what needs to be done.

If you regularly support someone because of illness, disability, mental health challenges or age, you may be an unpaid carer.

Come and say hello, pick up information and find out more about the support available through Liverpool Carers Centre.

πŸ’™ It's Thursday of Carers Week and we're still out across Liverpool helping hidden carers recognise the support available to them.

Every day, thousands of people across our city provide unpaid care for someone they love. They help with appointments, medication, shopping, emotional support and countless other tasks, often without ever thinking of themselves as carers.

They say:

"I just check in on my mum."

"I just help my partner when they need me."

"I just make sure they're okay."

But those everyday acts can make you a carer, and support is available.

Today, you can find the Liverpool Carers Centre team at:

πŸ“ Oakvale Surgery | 9am–1pm
πŸ“ Asda Breck Road | 10am–7pm

If you've ever wondered whether you're a carer, come and have a chat with us. We're here to listen, answer questions and help you access support.

Because carers deserve support too.
