Please see the following notice from HMP Liverpool:

HMP Liverpool are committed to ensuring that all prisoners have access to meaningful activity while in custody that will allow them to earn money and also maximise their time out of cell. To ensure this happens, on arrival to HMP Liverpool all prisoners receive an induction and are suitably allocated to a place of activity varying from a range of education provisions, industry work and prison jobs.

There will be occasions when prisoners are unable to attend their allocated place of work such as attending a hospital appointment or having a social visit, however there are also occasions when prisoners will refuse to attend. To promote increased engagement with all purposeful activity from week commencing 2nd March prisoners who refuse to attend their allocated place of work will not be eligible for the purchase of a goodie bag from their visitors during social visits.

At present family members/friends can purchase goodie bags for prisoners at the start of their social visit which are then issued to prisoners at the end of their visit. From week commencing 2nd March 2026 POPS will not be providing goodie bag order sheets to prisoners who have refused to attend their allocated place of work for that week. We appreciate any support from family members that can be given to prisoners to support them in attending their allocated place of employment.

This is a prison initiative and any questions regarding this should be directed to prison staff and not POPS staff. We thank you for your support.

✨ Today we launch our new brand! ✨

POPS has always stood for families – and our refreshed identity and new website are here to reflect that more clearly than ever.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see our new look across our website, leaflets, social media and in our visitor centres. Please know that while our appearance is changing, the heart of what we do remains the same. We are still here to support you and your family, just as we always have.

Our rebrand is about making it easier for families to feel connected, informed, and supported. It honours our history while showing the breadth of what we do today—supporting families both inside and outside the justice system, creating spaces where lived experience is heard, and making sure families feel valued and empowered.

We’re also excited to share our new website...

A simpler, more accessible way to find information, services, and resources.

We would love to hear your feedback on the new brand via our quick 4 question survey:
