A wonderful milestone for the hospice as we celebrated the official opening of four new continuing healthcare beds. This expansion represents much more than additional capacity. It means greater access to specialist care, comfort, dignity and support for patients and their loved ones when they need it most.

As we reflect on all that has been achieved in recent months, we are proud to celebrate this milestone alongside the supporters, partners, staff and volunteers who make it possible. These new beds are a testament to what can be accomplished when a community comes together to support compassionate, specialist care for those who need it most.

Our sincere thanks to Patron, for officially opening the new beds, to for coming to cover the event, to Vice Lord-Lieutenant Mrs Kathy Sambrook OBE DL and Mims Davies MP for joining us to mark this important occasion. We are grateful to everyone who has played a part in making this expansion possible and helping us extend our care to more people across our community.

This week, our Carers’ Café volunteers hosted a beautiful Vintage Tea Party to celebrate — a chance for our incredible carers to enjoy some well-deserved “me-time.”

Every day, these amazing individuals give so much of themselves while caring for loved ones living with a life-limiting illness, so this was our opportunity to give something back and celebrate all that they do.

From tea and treats to laughter and connection, it was a truly special morning dedicated to the people who care tirelessly for their loved ones, 24/7.

As comes to a close, we want to remind carers that you are never alone at St Peter & St James Hospice

If you’re caring for someone with a life-limiting illness under our care, we’re here to support you too — from diagnosis onwards.

Our Living Well Centre offers:

• Welfare advice – our Welfare Advisor can support with a range of practical, financial and benefit issues.
• Carer’s Café – where you can meet with others who are facing similar life circumstances.
• Carer's Crafting - a monthly group for carers to meet and craft together.
• Complimentary Therapy – where you can take some time to relax, promoting physical and emotional wellbeing.
• Singing for wellbeing – a relaxed group that brings people together to have fun, making the most of the mood-boosting benefits of singing. We welcome both people with a life-limiting illness and carers to this group.
• Patient & Carer’s Voice – A session where you can help make our services work better for you & others by sharing your ideas and feedback.

A huge thank you to the incredible St Peter & St James Hospice Living Well Supportive Care team for taking on the Worthing Half Marathon & 10K in support of local people living with a life-limiting illness, and those closest to them.

Together, they not only completed the challenge — they smashed their £500 fundraising target, raising an amazing £1,446 to support the hospice.

Every donation helps provide vital care and support to patients and families in our community. If you’d like to give the team a round of applause and help, make an even bigger difference, please consider donating via their JustGiving page. Every pound truly counts.
