Sexual health can be something that feels hard to know where to turn. However, it does not have to be.
In Shetland, we have a sexual health clinic that is open every Monday evening from 545 to 745. We understand that attending a clinic can be daunting for some people, options are available outside of those times by contacting the department directly.
SARCS (Sexual Assault Response Coordination Services) is a dedicated NHS service which can provide medical care, forensic examination and support to anyone over the age of 16 who has experienced recent r**e or sexual assault.
A referral to SARCS can be made without reporting to the police an can allow forensic evidence to be collected for use within the following two years. This option gives survivors choice and most importantly time to decide what is right for them. If you would like to discuss either of these services with us please get in touch on [email protected]
