Delting FC - Women & Girls chose Mind Your Head as the charity for their fundraising event, the Brae to World Cup Challenge.

As part of this challenge, their players took on a fundraising activity during the World Cup period, travelling “from Brae to the World Cup” in distance over the course of the tournament. They split the amount raised between themselves (raising funds for equipment for their team) and supporting a local charity of their choice.

They were excited about the challenge as a group, and proud to be supporting a local charity that does such important work around mental health awareness and wellbeing in Shetland. In total they raised an amazing £1300, donating £650 of this to our charity!

🏃 MYH Fun Run!!! 🎉

We are delighted to announce that it’s time to dust off your trainers 👟 and start preparing for Mind Your Head’s 20th Anniversary Fun Run and Walk on Sunday 22nd August 2027. 📅

The popular event returns after an eight-year hiatus. It will be held at Cunningsburgh 📍, as in previous years, and is open to anyone who wants to run, jog, cycle or walk either the 5k or 10k route. 🏃‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚶

To add to the celebrations, MYH are planning to have live music 🎶 after the run, with stalls offering food and drinks 🍔🥤 and other activities into the evening. The event will have a party atmosphere 🥳 to celebrate the charity’s ongoing success. It is also a way of thanking the community for supporting MYH for 20 years. 💚

Anouska Civico, CEO, says, “When we started planning the 20th anniversary, it didn’t feel right not to bring back the Fun Run. Still to this day, if you mention MYH to anyone, they generally know us for the Fun Run as much all the support services we offer. There will be other events in the run-up to the day and they are still in the planning stages.

“There will be more updates as the months go on, so please keep an eye on local media and socials.” 👀

To make the Fun Run as big an occasion as possible, MYH are looking for sponsorship from individuals and local businesses 🤝 who can help either by offering money towards the running costs, volunteering on the day 🙋 or by offering their skills. Sponsors will, of course, be recognised in a variety of ways. We are also looking for local musicians 🎸 who would love to be a part of the event.
