It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Joe Irvine, a dedicated Trustee of Shetland Recreational Trust from 1990 to 2014, and Chairman from 1995 until his retirement.

Joe was an outstanding servant to the Trust, whose leadership and commitment helped shape its direction and strengthen its impact over more than two decades.

Respected by all who had the privilege of working with him - from staff to partners and the wider community - Joe will be remembered for his integrity, approachability and unwavering support.

We extend our sincere condolences to Joeโ€™s family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.

After more than 12 years of dedicated service, weโ€™re saying a heartfelt farewell to one of our valued Mechanical Maintenance Technicians at Shetland Recreational Trust.

Throughout his time with us, Duncan has played a vital role in keeping our facilities running safely and smoothly, always bringing reliability, skill, and a strong work ethic to the team. His contribution behind the scenes has made a real difference to both colleagues and the community.

As he heads into retirement, we want to thank him for his commitment, professionalism, and positive impact over the years.

Wishing you a long, happy, and well-deserved retirement - may it be filled with relaxation, new adventures, and plenty of time doing the things you love. Youโ€™ll be greatly missed! ๐Ÿ‘

Would all our customers please note that our membership and pay and play prices will be increasing with effect from 1 April 2026.

Whilst increasing prices isnโ€™t something we enjoy doing, it is essential due to the continued rise in costs associated to operating our facilities.

For regular users and family/household groups the most cost effective option is our rolling MORE4life monthly membership, which offers excellent value for money.

For just ยฃ33.99 per month for an individual membership or ยฃ52.99 for a family/household group (2 adults over 18 years and any number of children) you can access all SRT facilities to participate in swimming, gym/fitness suites, health suites, group fitness classes, racquet sports, climbing wall, bowls rinks/mats and access to the Leisure Link Scheme to allow you to stay active whilst on the mainland.

Details of our pricing can be found by clicking on the link provided below ๐Ÿ‘‡
