Unfortunately Toadfish have had to pull out of playing at our Evening Party in Sound Hall due to illness, and we wish them a speedy recovery.

But never leat, we still have the wonderful Elastic Rain and DJ Yetti to entertain us and keep the dancefloor full!

Not to mention Rujazzle, Skinny Minnie, Lily Minogue, Victoria Pier, AND Magenta (who are all on the boat)!

For anyone who fancies a chill afternoon after Shetland Pride is done, Gaada are hosting a Shetland Gay Bird Club workshop on Sunday 14th June from 1pm-4pm!

This will be the first in-person gathering of the Shetland Gay Bird Club inviting q***r people, friends and allies to spend an afternoon walking, sketching and birdwatching. Hopefully it will be a wholesome afternoon for many folk to nurse their Shetland Pride hangover!

Hopefully this will be the first of many meetups! 🌈 🦤

🏳️‍🌈 VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED 🏳️‍🌈

We are on the lookout for just a few more volunteers for parade marshalling this year. If you have time on Saturday 13th June to help out from 10.30am-12.30pm we would be so grateful!

Parade marshalling requires a short 30-45 min training session beforehand, which we can set up with you.

All volunteers are getting entered into a raffle to win a free return trip on the Northlink for two!

We have less than two weeks to go and we are still in desperate need of some volunteers. As you all know, we cannot run the parade without the correct number of parade marshals, and we DESPERATELY need more, otherwise the parade just will not happen.

To be a parade marshal all you need to do is attend a short training session beforehand, and be available from 10.30am-12.30pm on the day to walk alongside the parade.

It's a great way to get involved and be part of the Parade!

Also, all volunteers will be entered into a raffle and could win a FREE return trip on the Northlink for 2 people! Which sounds pretty excellent to me.... 👀

We have a range of other roles you can help out with:
A village or evening party steward,
Helping us with setting up and taking down the village and party.

🌈 PRE PRIDE ACTIVITIES 🌈

We are running a couple of evening arts & crafts sessions for anyone who wants to make signs for the parade, or have their art put up in Sound Hall for the Pride Village and Evening Party! We have all the supplies, all you need to do is come along and create something!

Later in the week we're opening our pop up shop in Islesburgh, giving you the perfect opportunity to stock up on official Shetland Pride merch, facepaints, flags, and more ahead of Saturday's parade.

🏳️‍🌈 Accessibility at Pride🦽

We have extended our Parade route this year to be bigger than ever, which we understand is not achievable for all.
This new route is 1.2 miles/2km.
Due to this, we will be having a stopping off point off of the Commercial Road roundabout outside of Magno Cafe where you can finish the parade early if needed.
This shorter route is 0.4 miles/600m.

We will also be arranging additional transport to the village for those without access to a vehicle from the accessibility finishing point once the parade has passed us.
